Le noble prince Getting your brain sliced in half isn't necessarily lethal, the only thing connecting the two halves of the brain is a small nerve bridge located right in the centre of the brain, and getting that sliced in half wouldn't kill sincee it only serves the purpose of allowing both halves of the brain to communicate, in fact, sometimes people diagnosed with epilepsy get that bridge surgically sliced in order to stop the two halves from interfering with each other, effectively stopping the seizures.

Technically the two hemispheres of the brain can operate on their own, that said I think the saw went down far enough to hit the brain stem which would be an issue.

This was a tribute to the legendary lost footage of a movie called "The Big Boss", starring Bruce Lee. In that scene, Lee slashes through a man's skull with a saw. Glad the scene at least made it with badass Kenshiro.

Nope Kenshiro straight up turned a saw into a blade making one incredibly fast slice through bone of the skull so fast that blood didn't not even have a chance to drain out or splatter.
