In those days, no matter what “education” of the world, if you weren’t educated in the Bible, you weren’t yet learned. Most people who got by with even a “1st grade” education of the early 20c, was far beyond our Ivy League colleges of today. As today, people are being taught what to think, how to work at a 9-5, and political ideologies, instead of how to run a government, civilization, family, institutions and sciences, and their own consciences, as they were; which requires HOW to THINK, argue, and discern white from black, right from wrong, life from death, good from evil. How do I know about the 1st grade education superiority? Because I homeschooled my son in the old books of that day, as well as there were tests given by the most educated of today’s world to see what they know to pass the 1st grade of the first decade of the 1900s, and they couldn’t answer a handful of questions put to them, smh.
