Something Mr. Wallace said about forming an identity that doesn't shift protects us from trauma: I can affirm that. It was devastating when our son committed suicide, but it was the assurance that God was there for me that enabled me to endure.

I appreciate hearing Wallace say you should be intentional about getting married. So much dating advice out there nowadays, especially from Christians, is that you should NOT be intentional about seeking marriage because it won't happen if you try to seek it, for some reason. People say you'll only find someone if you're not specifically looking for someone. It'll just "happen naturally though developing a friendship first." Unfortunately for me, not being intentional about getting married has led me to still being single at 36. I wish I would have been intentional about it at least 16 years ago.

This is some great stuff and I haven’t started reading the book yet.

It would be interesting to hear how both of you and others have gone about to write books. Did you write an outline of the topics you wanted to cover? Did you find some way to dictate specific items you want to include. How did you get the flow of concept recorded and developed into your books. I flew med evac helicopters in Vietnam. The second time I was shot down, the rotor broke off and we began to free fall. I had just enough time to cry out, "God, if you exist, do something." We crashed. Of the 6 of us on board the total injuries were: The patient that we had picked up, scrapped his forehead as he bounced across the floor of the aircraft. And the crew chief trainee sprained the arch of his foot. That sent me on a search to find out who was this God that rescued us. I think that others might find that search and what I have learned to be of interest. But when I went to share Vietnam experiences, I found people who didn't want to hear anything more about what had happened over there because they had already seen more than they wanted on the news. So I switched to teaching Bible studies and organizing small fellowship groups. But now I would like to share what I have learned and I think others would like to share what they have learned. So I think it would be great to hear about the process of producing materials (books, blogs, podcasts, etc.) that you and others use. Do you jot down notes, dictate ideas into your cellphone or have other ways of recording your thoughts? So, what are the processes that you and your guests use to produce great products? I think others will find this of interest too.

I'm a devout Christian. I believe such affective arguments as 39:37 are filled with far too much pathos. Although I would need to look at desires and their potential compass like manner. I believe my dispositional stance is that just because you wish for something to be true, does not mean it is. Reality could be a cold mistress, teasing you passively with desires that come out of our temporal awareness, and understanding of progressive events, with an awareness of the social regularity of death, everyone dies, that means you too sweat cakes, and our desire for immortality nothing more than reactive psychological conditioning to provide the emotional buffering against the indifferent harshness of life. I do not believe this is the case, I believe Near death experiences, death bed experiences etc lead to fairly strong evidence against the position, but it could be, even if it is unpleasant, and thus I cringe when someone speaks about how our desires lead us to reality currently, although recognising my own lack of knowledge and need to learn. I currently believe desire is important because it provides the impetus to find out wether it is all a load of rubbish, or could it strangely be true. desire has, I suppose, served humanity well this way.

How to do and live apologetics. Paul tried it. In Romans c7 tried to be good ended up doing greater evil. We have the fruit of the Holy Spirit we love with love Jesus by the Grace of God shalom.

Last night I looked in on a dance at a celebration. It was all group dancing. Lots of just jumping up and down. There was no one on one, boy with girl dancing. What does this tell us about where our culture is going or has already gone?

I tend to believe too that God revealed himself to all civilizations, with some more closely or correctly adhering to Him than others. However, the birth and spread of the Gospel of Christ is still imminently important; so that all the nations of the Earth can be confirmed in their belief in God, now with the knowledge of Christ and his death on the cross to redeem our sins.

Arn't the most worthwhile things in life often the hardest? Isnt a thing sweet when it took all you had to get it? Jesus. I owe him my life, literally. Can I play baseball? I was ten. I didn't know. The only way to know was to get on the field and play. When I got a fire hard ball to the body from the best pitcher 3 balls in a row in practice, I was black and blue and tears streaming in front of girls present and team mates I got on that plate hit that ball and got on first base and they cheered me. Okay so I played right field. But I could get a base hit off the best pitchers out there. We took first place. We had 3 girls on our team, lol. They ridiculed us, and we took 'em all down and took first place in the league. God put something in me. Laugh at me? I survived more before I turned 5 years old than most adults could recover from. He deliverd me from drugs and worse and I'm in this little church in this left wing town. But Jesus gave me my life. I've got another chance. You might not bet on me but my God already has. He put it all on a cross. It's all I can do to get through the week, I'm trying to work again after being disabled. He hears my prayers. Can I do the March for the homeless tomorrow? I don't know. If I wake up I guess I'll find out. Church on Sunday? I don't know if I can. But if by the grace of God I wake up then I guess I walk those two miles to get there, and if I can do that I guess I'll be there. Then I'll stand up and lead communion. Can I get up in front of twenty people and read that scripture and lead a prayer. "Each day has enough" - Jesus the Holy Messiah, First Century, CE. I did it last week. 3 years ago? I couldn't. But make sure you bet on our God and what He can do. Can I make it to work on Monday? I don't know. But if given a chance I will probably say a prayer and get down there and find out.
