Another great video, Peter. I have found that most hams dabble somewhat in electronics. I guess it's just part of ham radio. But most hams cannot repair their own radios unless they are a working technician. Your troubleshooting techniques are par to none. put an MI301 PIN diode instead of the original diode. yes it's a bit more expensive but you'll never have problem with that circuit again.

Had me a Yaesu 757gxII had receive issues and such. Was leaky diodes. Put me in some 1N4148 and fix it good. Did you use Genuine replacements or did you use some equivalent for the diode? Good video.

Love to send you my MK2G. Works for 10 min. Then we only have 160. Probably relaying. I Can't see that well or I'd go for it. Be nice to be able to get a New relay board but I'm sure know one makes them.

Peter all your videos are great. The earlier ones on Baluns in (4 parts a few years back) were extremely good and fundemental. You did one 6 months ago on replacing the Icom7300 final mosfets. I just wondered where you got those from? I only ask because other than eBay (hmm) I am struggling to find them. David

Look for bad electrolytic capacitors on the display board.

The backlight circuit is ageing if you are lucky only caps are involved....
