It’s not important for a vocal coach to be able to sing well. They only need singing theory and ear training. Michael Jackson had a vocal coach who couldn’t sing, yet he was still a reliable vocal coach

This is where I have the most problems. Moving from chest to mixed and head voice. My voice cracks and breaks alot in transition.

What helped me is to slowly mentally move the position of my voice at the back of my head when I'm close to this crack (it should almost feel like yawning) and then move back to the center of my head when the voice is done. This way, the crack will disappear after a few attempts

@swarnajoshi6476 Sure! Although I don't know what else to add. You can try to literally yawn and then raise your pitch. If the transition gets smooth then you can slowly remove the yawning until you get the result you want. But probably practice would be the best answer here. The first time i blended chest and mix voices without a voice crack was when I got tired and just started doing "aaaaAAaaah" sound back and forth between low pitch and high pitch until suddenly the voice crack was gone. So try to practice but don't overwork yourself!

@@NameNik223holy shit I just tried this and it really helped! The cracking when I go between is a big bugaboo for me rn and it still doesn’t sound GREAT but the this gives me hope I can overcome it! Ty ty ty ❤

What would you recommend for voice breaking? Do I need to put more power behind it and just exercise my vocal chord until I can control them? I guess that’s what singing is. 🤦‍♀️ I’m actually embarrassed to sing by myself alone in a room but I know that’s just ego.

Can you make a video about singers embechures as they navigate vocal registers? I’ve been trying to learn to sing for about 2 years now but when I sing high notes my voice carry’s an Uhhhh vowel instead of forward clean vowels even with my tongue forward. I think it may be related to vocal embechure.

I could not find any other registers but my my chest for the longest time. A few years ago I found a voice teacher who helped me find my mixed and head voice and now I have a really hard time staying in my chest on high notes. I go from the talking voice to mixed. I almost can't even tell which I'm in. Can you belt in mixed voice?

It sounds to me like you're using head voice, just more pointed? What is the difference between "upper mix" and "pushing the chest too high"? Or between upper mix and strong/pointed head voice?
