I think they should do one where, you have to guess if Sharron eats or doesn't eat the food. If you win, you get the prize plus all the try foods. And if No one Wins, Sharron gets to pick the punishment for the next episode.

As a Brit mince pies don’t contain any meat at all, mincemeat is what we call the filling which is made of sugar, dried fruit, peelings, and mixed spices. Imagine a fruit pie with a exotic spice added to it

I think the confusion comes from the fact that there are also savory mince pies, which are not sweet mince pies (sweet and spicy "mincemeat" mix as you mentioned), but rather meat based pies - beef, lamb, etc. Usually the sweet ones are done for Christmas and the others are for anytime in the year.

Mince pies were first served in the early middle ages, and the pies were quite sizeable, filled with a mixture of finely minced meat, chopped up fruit and a preserving liquid. Mincemeat originally came about as a good way of preserving meat, without salting, curing, smoking or drying it.

I was a bit thrown off by the lack of explanation on mince pies. They're not supposed to contain meat at all. They did a long time ago - the recipe was changed but the name stuck. There ARE savoury pies that contain minced meat, but they're a different thing entirely. Mince pies contain a kind of spiced fruit jam, and they're a Christmas staple in the UK. And no, they're not supposed to be "bitter" 😅

There's no meat in a mince pie! 'Mincemeat' in this instance is dried fruits and sometimes a brandy mix. The pastry doesn't have to be suet based either. Usually shortcrust but can also be flaky

You guys should try doing a reverse episode, where you can take X bites of punishment food to start but the food coming after could be good or bad. If you take the max amount of bites you have to eat everything. If you succeed at eating your amount you get a small prize. If you opt to do nothing you get the prize first. If you fail during, you get a worse punishment at the end.

I think it's a texture thing for many people. The flavour is nice but I absolutely cannot stand it because the texture is so off putting. My ex gf also used to buy like it by a 1kg bag literally every few days and the smell was just a lot. Idk man. Mean no disrespect - Japan is my favourite cuisine of all, but wakame texture is just a big no.

Okay, but for real - the Harry Potter sweets in the UK were so much better than this when the movies first came out. The chocolate frogs were much larger (though hollow, like an Easter egg, or a Lindt bunny/chocolate Santa), and the Every-Flavour Beans were ahead of their time.

Lol, mince pies dont contain meat....maybe it originated that way but it hasnt for a long time. Also if it is bitter that is a cooking/recipe error. I have never had a bitter mince pie
