Finally, I found a fellow tubist in the internet. I’m actually only in middle school in the west coast, but I am in the top band. My brother played trombone for the RCC Marching Tigers for 2 years, (that’s a really good marching band near me, I recommend watching them.) and I want to follow in his footsteps. Also, I want to play contra in a drum corps someday. Most likely you will not read this comment, but it’s cool that you are in the Million Dollar Band. High school "hand check" was PDA for us on the bus. Chaperones or the band director would scream PDA and then flashlights were brought out. Public Display of Affection. Lol, thanks for reminding of that.

We have a really small band with 2 picolos, 1 flute, 1 baratone, 4 altos, 1 tenor, 1 tuba, 2 trumpets, 4 clarinets, and 5 percussionists. This is our entaire band for the year. We can actually hear our picolos. But i feel that flute one.

I’m not one to ask for advice a whole lot, however I recently just switched to tuba from trombone and have been playing it for almost 4 months, and I am the only tuba in our marching band and concert band, and I feel like I’m not at the level I was at with trombone, what advice do you have for new players

OMG YOU GO TO ALABAMA?!?!?! HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE PRIDE OF CHILTON COUNTY MARCHING BAND FROM CLANTON?!?! We went to a comp in Gadsden (we’re a AA band) and got the second best score out of 29 bands. We got a 95 and Auburn high school got a 97 and they’re a AAAAA band.
