This is what I want to see more on youtube. People busy making art and working around construction constraints. The weaving is always a great motif for the finishes. Takes more time and dedication but the work is as valuable giving an amazing result.

@@bovice1766 Using this video as a guide, I am sure I could find (near where live) some good woman bricklayer who could be better to understand and make this challenge and probably will be please to TRY this!!! To do that I am sure he had some piece of leather item to guide him to make this work. This is a very HARD 3D spatial mental work to reproduce with cement!!!

I was a faux finisher for 10 years but quit because I feel people don't realize my art and confuse me with a construction worker hard to explain but I'm happy now,(edit) I did a kitchen similar once made look like a basket weave walls

I feel like people see anyone working with plaster or cement and throw them in the 'day laborer' or construction worker category. Nothing wrong with that, but if you were working with paint people would see it as art so I don't know why a different medium makes them think different. Glad you're happy now friend

@@isaelfernandez I've used it interior, I've done skulls mantles , Greek colums, vines growing up door entrys ,,pays well but as said got to a point where I was rushed and treated as a construction worker

This craftsmanship is on another level. As an architect I would love to utilize this on one of my projects in the future, just wondering of the proper sand and cement ratio so that the finished work would not crack in time. Have a great day. Cheers!

Same here. I'm guessing that he is also using a fine grained sand of a constant size with maybe some plasticizer (to reduce w/c ratio and control cracking). Maybe a bit of retarder as well.

If you attempted this on a wall your cement would have set well before you finished cutting the pattern into it.

I was thinking if it would be possible to 3d print an inverse mould of this and line the inside of some formwork with it. making a solid concrete wall with this pattern.

@@politicalwrong3289 IS mandate to use some kind of polyurethane varnish over the cement and you must use some type of compress air/water cleaning appliance to maintain it for more time...

Great skills, but just tile it. They are available, easy to install, easier to clean. this is a small area - i would like to see him do 8 square meters of it, like a full wall with out applying my wallet for every second weave.

Really great work. This is no longer construction. This is art, and doing it while the mud is drying is very impressive. If he took to long he would have to scrape it all off and start again.

Это не цемент с песком. Даже с пластификаторами он не будет таким пластичным. Скорее всего готовая смесь

@Robert Porte I didn't add anything, I set a reasonable drying time to begin with and I had to ask myself if I should water the surface to slow it down before I start plastering.

Exactly what I needed, coming from a bad infection: no talk, no 20 minute introduction, straight to the work, and what an art you’ve created! I’m not a craftsman and I’m familiar with the harsh conditions (mostly due to bad politics), but I like to build stuff here and there as well and I think craftmanship was given to most of us men (and some woman as well) as a gift to create something that can help or make others happy :-) Liked and subscribed :-)

Corrijo; no es chino, es vietnamita o tailandés (??); los orientales, "habitualmente" son mejores para el cálculo y los patrones que los occidentales, "seguramente" porque las trabajan desde edades tempranas 🤷‍♂️, puede que haya otras razones, pero lo cierto es que se les suele dar mejor... siempre hay excepciones. 🙋‍♂️

Это очень трудоемкий процесс, который можно чисто для себя попробовать. А так кому-то предложить нет смысла, во первых долго, во вторых не дёшево за сам процесс я имею ввиду.

He used a Portland and sandmix based cement. Depending on the climate you live in, it might not last long until it cracks.. moisture, wetness, freezing and unthawing can really damage and make brittle concrete coatings like this.

Yep, most people can't/won't pay the price of something like this. The amount of work that goes into something like this is ridiculous, not to mention the unique skillset and "end product".
