just an update - it's been confirmed that they will be expanding to 30 shades, from light to actually dark tones! that's a huge change in the kbeauty industry so i'm very excited

@@Kalidreaminethere are plenty of Korean companies that do darker shades, it’s not that revolutionary, if you’re in Korea, you can get custom foundation from these brands

Remember it’s a Korean brand. Most Koreans do have lighter skin. However, TIRTIR released new darker shades which is a huge step up for them.

@@des.mezzzz most of them are light medium, but their skincare have a lot of "whitening" ingredients, and they use foundations that are 2 shades lighter than their real skin tone...... If you see some idols photos without photoshop you'll see that.😶

@@BiancaC-ov8ko yes but are the idols wearing that foundation to be specific? TIRTIR just released some and they have been tested out by some black creators. The shades still aren’t that inclusive but it’s definitely a huge step up from other Korean shade ranges.

whats the point of them sending it to a darker skintone content creator when they dont have shades that cater to darker skins. they dont have to pretend to be inclusive when their products arent? its like sending a wheelchair to an able bodied person for a review. they shouldve just reached out when they actually do release darker shades

They are actually extending the shade range. Before it was only 3 shades and now it’s 9 because they saw it has outside interest. That’s more than a lot of Asian skincare brands care to do. let’s cut them a little slack. In some of her other videos her skin literally looked like the darkest shade there too so… yeah. Maybe lighting tripped them up a bit.

my guess is the PR team don't have any brown or black people around and don't actually know how dark darker skin is, so they just assume "yeah this is darker than me it should work for her"

TIRTIR even came out with darker shades then this, to see that they have shades 40 and 43 which are way darker than these shades

Probably because they’ve been planning on expanding. They’re trying to be more inclusive and have been approaching a wider range of influencers beforehand instead of as an afterthought.
