I tried a super weird and mysterious retro handheld from Temu (although you can get it elsewhere as well). This is the M17, which seems to be made by a brand called SJGAM. This is advertised as being able to emulate PS1, PSP, N64, and others as well. Will it stack up to its high expectations? You might be surprised with what you can get with a budget retro handheld gaming device for $46!

By the way the screen is barely blue looking in person, for whatever reason it appears worse on camera (maybe the screen itself and the fact my camera is bad 😅) & I only need 59 more subscribers to be monetized (you need 1,000) so if you would consider subscribing it would be a great help to me and I would really appreciate it!

This looks like very similar performance to the R35S (no manufacturer, just a model number) that's also at this price point. Just with a 16:9 screen and a better controls layout. Honestly seems like a solid pick for the price. EDIT: the slowdown on PS1 is bizarre, if this chip is powerful enough to even approach the PSP it should chew through PS1 flawlessly.

Yeah I saw the R35S recently too, I'm honestly kinda tempted to buy one since they look like such a good value. And I have no idea what was going on with the PS1 either, I would have to think that you could get it working better with a little tinkering (but I might not have the patience to do so lol)

To avoid ps1 slowdowns, backup microsd card and drop it to the bin, restore backup on high quality card and enjoy ps1 smooth gameplay)) Tekken3 and Bloody Roar 2, runs very smooth!

@@GravelWare The slowdown in ps1 is caused by the slow SD card, due to the device caching a lot to it, upgrade the SD card and it will be fixed

Trying it with a better, faster tf card is supposedly capable of fixing it.

Nice video, but I think your white balance was off cause it looked overly blue. You may want to check your camera settings for that , then check it and use the setting that looks most natural.

So someone else has said that simply swapping out the tf card for a better one (especially with faster read speed capabilities) will really really really help the higher end emulation. Which you should probably be switching it out anyways, because honestly these tf cards are always corrupting

N64 games are notorious for slowing and speeding up like that so that is completely normal N64 gameplay - Maybe you don't remember playing N64 lol all emulators share this effect because of how Nintendo changed their chips on each cartridge - instead of releasing new models every 6 months they improve the chip set in the game itself. This in turn would create those issues if you have an earlier N64 with a New N64 game. X and Y being switched for PlayStation is how PS is overseas in Japan so just based on that version of PSP. All footage you showed showed games working per normal. Hope that helps someone :)

I literally was looking at this, and I’m like on the Add it so they can play PS3. I was waiting for someone to do a review on it because I just got all my coupons and I just won one for free playing that fish game. Temu is actually the shit I can’t wait to come if not, then watch the video yet. I hope I’m not disappointed.

Can you save games or use save states? I’ve used dirt cheap handheld emulators before but never had one that had a nice front end like that and mine couldn’t save games.

Yes this does use save states, but only one per game. It for whatever reason doesn't seem to be perfect though unfortunately as like 10% of the time it won't work for me

For $50 you got robbed man. That screen is terrible. Defiantly better handhelds out there for that price. I do like these videos where people buy handhelds no one really knows anything about, you never know you might find a gem one day.

This is a follow up comment ( to the one I made above). I would have to say no, I would not get this cause of the included games ,there aren't many psp and above, and usually I find a lot of games that I don't like or are in other languages. Also I don't want an android device. It's also probably too heavy for me to play comfortably for more than 10 minutes. I also don't like the shape or colors it comes . What's wrong with red or blue?
