I wish they had listed the product like that makeup removing pad. I tried some in the past that were supposed to remove makeup without product but they were made of synthetic fiber and I actually injured one of my eye really badly with it ! =0 I just ended up buying soft cotton face cloth and avocado oil. I don't really wear makeup at all anymore but would be curious to know. A good moisturizer that is not coconut oil ( I break out like CRAZY with coconut oil) is Raw cocoa butter , just break a small chunk and make it melt on your skin , the delicious smell of chocolate YUM ^^ .

Try out the powder one named Greench (I think) one tiny bottle about the size of a kiwi can last at least a year.

Try watching some zero waste youtubers like Shelbizzle, she has reviewed quite a few low waste make up brands if your Interested.

It's just not feasible for everyone to spend a lot more on makeup though. It depends on your income

well if the consumers change / demand for something different i.e. more sustainable packaging, then the companies will change, so it is really about the consumers. a lot of companies don't care about the environmental impact so if they dont need to change they won't, unless they're given reason to. I dont think theyre trying to blame the consumer, but it is important for people to be aware of what they are buying and make it clear if they arent happy as it is the best way to encourage change

Changing the demand is important as well as contacting your local companies and government leaders to add more regulations on corporations

i do get where you’re coming from however it is the consumers choice what they buy and if you don’t agree with what a company is doing it’s your responsibility not to support them by not buying their products

You are so right. But personal resposibility always is important. I am not trying to down play what you said by the way. Youre point is so valid. We should also try and creat and pitch different alternatives. Idealy to be cheaper to produce or relatively so it would be easy to sell to these manufacturers

​@@katieelisabeth6036 Givin a reason to by changing the laws and it just should be illegal to destroy the environment, Some places don't even have access to recycling(and we all know recycling is BS) nor access to basic composting pick up. Most places are so far off they can't even ban PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS !!!!!!!! like the most basic thing that should just not exist. It would be way more efficient to just have laws and ban all that crap. than having a few people dying of guilt because they are so stressed and have to make hours of research to figure out what product is the best for the environment or just not able to afford alternatives. Yes people have to be more mindful there is no doubt but waiting on the consumer want is like relying on a toddlers to make Healthy food choices by burring some carrots and celery underneath A ginormous pile of Cakes and Candies )and Chicken nuggets ). It's just not gonna happen , might be a few very well educated and behaved toddlers that going to go out of there way to find something healthy but the rest is just gonna grow overweight and unhealthy. Can't expect the mass to make decent choices when the options are very hard to find and you have to educate yourself on the subject and make tones of research to find actually good alternatives(on things that are not basic like use a bar of soap instead of body gel or use washable cloth instead of paper towels) . Everyone is already Overworked with No free time and stressful lives , Brain washed and Bombarded by commercials made to make you want and buy these products . Also adding to the top all the "green washing" that is even more misleading people in thinking they are making good choices but it's just as bad at the end. But than again laws are slow to change and making one thing illegal ,companies come up with another bad new chemicals that will take 40 year to show up and prove that's its actually bad for people and another 5-10 year to actually make a law about it.

There are so many local versions of the products they showed. Shes given us the chance to look for them for ourselves. That serum bar is from Lush, the toothbrush is a humble brush, reuseable cotton wipes are widely available and shampoo bars are availible in street markets. If in doubt go to Lush, but our local businesses are important to support. Otherwise we just continue feeding Corporate monsters
