That's exactly what I did with those toffies during my last reserve exercises. Stuck em in my pocket and had one-two whenever I felt like it. About the lack of cutlery. Every estonian soldier is issued a metals set of knife, fork and spoon and a swedish style stainless steel cooking set with spirits based heater. There are several different menus and some had canned rye bread in them instead of crackers. I strongly preferred those ones.

The main thing with this food is that the meals are big, but aren't meant to be eaten all at once. Usually u eat like a can of food and the rest is snack along the way. Otherwise, good to see Estonian MREs be appreciated :)

Back in the service those sweets were a life saver, candy bars from store and halva from the MRE. The plus side was you could just stuff your face on the go, no need to warm them up and it's fast energy. Didn't eat any sweets for like 5 years after the service, now I maybe have something sweet every other week or so.

Back in 2016 when i served, our MRE-s only had canned food so we usually had around 3 cans of food and one water based food that was usually breakfast. Those MRE-s weighed a ton but were quite good.

The rice and meat can is meant to be heated. That's why it's not cooked completely, it cooks as you heat it.

Estonia is a northern country so we need lots of energy from meals (can go down to -35C, usual vinters are around -15 to -25C).

those wipes were pretty valuable, we traded them and used them to wipe our nether regions after camping for a week or two with no showers.

You seems to have found a real winner for a 24 H MRP. Perhaps the Estonia could export their MRP to countries in war or close to beeing in war.

Halvah has different variations in different packs, I cant recall exacltly how many, but I think there was atleast vanilla, rum and I guess caramell variations.

Ive not been to the military yet but oh my god I laughed when I saw the "rannarootsi" canned meat :D. They're a known local (aka made in Estonia and produces for Estonia) company. Now in the year 2022 I think the best meat products come from Liivimaa Lihaveis. Of course you can find some farms for that well marbled meat if you're a bbq fanatic. I wouldn't mind the food there at all but I'm not really fit for military and despite them telling me this every evaluation they keep giving me a new date. It's driving me crazy, have a lot of mental stuff I've been fixing my whole life and am still fixing.

This canned meat is a lot better when heated in my opinion.
