Isabella I use flaxseed for years now but you have missed something: Add Vitamin E and Olive Oil into it. Freeze the remaining flaxseeds so you can use them again (in my experience it's two times) you can also add some essential oil for fragrance. Put the rest into ice cube silicone thingies (forget that they are called) and also freeze the bottle and get the bottle the night before :)

HI! starting my vurly girl journey here, how much olive oil should i put? like a teaspoon while making it?
@Asehhar
@Asehhar 4 жыл бұрын
@@purletita after cooling down, take the seeds and freeze them. Then add a tablespoon or two (depends how fucked up your scalp is) of the oil you need. People with very textured Type 4 hair need Jojoba instead of Olive to give their scalp some rest (but olive oil is lime the Vanilla ice cream of the oils) and then vitamin E. These are important because you are putting food on your scalp and food rots and to prevent that you need these two ingredients
@lanycera

I've been using linseed gel for ages and here is some advice: apply the gel very generously to the soaking wet hair. It's ok if your hair has the texture of a slug. And then scrunch the slug hair with a damp cotton shirt. Your hair will curl immediately, 10x faster than when you are scrunching by hand and the shirt will get rid of the excess gel. When you do this, you'll have just enough gel left to get definition and also volume. Don't apply the gel directly to the roots, it weighs them down. Then diffuse halfway through and air dry the rest. If you dry all the way with the diffuser, you might destroy the gel cast prematurely, a linseed gel cast is not as supple as a bought gel and breaks easily when fully dry. Don't be afraid to refresh your hair the next day, the gel will reactivate with a bit of water and the curls will come back.

I eat flaxseeds everyday and it is very healthy but here are some very important information : 1. Eat them in moderation. Recommended daily intake is no more than one tea spoon. 2. When you eat it you have to be careful to drink enough throughout the day. Flaxseed work the same as chia seeds. They suck in the moisture and if you didn't drink enough water they will stop you from pooing. (edit: constipation was the word I was looking for... Had to look it but... Not my first language and happy to say it was the first time I had to use that word)

ive been using flaxseed gel both for my skin and hair and its amazing. you used a bit too much seeds. i use 2 tablespoon for about 250 ml water and boil the water for 10-15 mins. strain it immediately . Do not throw the seeds after straining as you can easily add it to smoothies or just blend it into a paste and use it to make cakes ( flaxseed gel behaves like egg whites and can be used to make Vegan cakes) or the same paste can be used in face masks and hair masks. flaxseed gel for hair - apply it on damp hair for best results as it traps the moisture in the strands. you may add a few drops of coconut oil to it for even better results. for skin - i use 1 tablespoon of flaxseed gel, 2-3 drops of vegetable glycerin and 3-4 drops of coconut oil. mix it really well. After shower just pat dry your skin and apply this mixture like you apply a cream or a moisturizer to your skin. in both cases you can leave it in. no need to wash it off. in a few weeks you skin will have a satin sheen to it and your hair will look much healthier. the gel also protects the strands from pollution and sun.

@@lizzzarduh Instead of three minutes cook for 2 minutes instead. So it is much more easier to separate gel from seeds. Than wait for it to cool down. When it becomes sort of eggy mixture apply it to your hair. I personally use it as a hair mask twice a week. I add 2 vitamin e capsule in it. Keep it on my hair for 2 or 3 hours before shower. My hair becomes so soft and voluminous. I love it. So you see I have thin strands of hair but thick in terms of volume. So if my hair gets sticky and i tie it up, It looks as if I don't have hair at all. So this mask kinda helps in keeping those strands separated.

Or if you forget to soak them (um... me!), just put them through a spice or coffee grinder before throwing them into your smoothie - if you use them whole, they'll just travel through your body out the other end. lol If you don't have a grinder, you can smoosh them a bit with the side of a chef's knife. Just don't do many in advance or they can go rancid, but you can store some in the fridge for a few days and pull what you need. Flax is amazing!

The time, effort, and research you put into your video is what makes me love them so much! There are so many “hair growth videos” but the people shown in the videos seem only to have good hair genetics and aren’t having to put in much effort. I’ve been growing my hair out since 8th grade from a short bob. The bob was shaved in the back at one point. I’m 23 now, with no major cuts since then and I am still working on my hair journey. My hair grows slow. But I found getting trims actually started to make my hair grow. I was terrified to get my hair cut, but trims have made my hair look thicker.And I always notice a quick outgrowth afterwards. Also sleeping in a braid, eating lots of blueberries and water helps me the most.

I just realized something when you talked about this being a humectant. Humectant can actually create the look of "frizz" or frizz itself because it bind to water in the air. Don't get me wrong, it can be good for the hair but maybe not so much for the initial appearance. That's why they recomend to not use humectants in humid climates. Thought I would mention it.

You'll get a better gel cast if you apply your gel to your hair when it's still soaking wet, like when you're still in the shower and have just finished conditioning it. It really helps with clumping and definition.

I’m so glad you tried the flaxseed gel! I suggest this to you last hair video 😊 the way your hair curled to it confirms that your hair needs heaps of moisture to curl because it’s so dry. Use the conditioner to get thicker clumps in the shower. Boucleme conditioner isn’t known for its moisturising factor - I would suggest maybe Jessicurl. Also for refresh, Marisas refresh method is really good. It’s a dry refresh and really minimises frizz in us wavyies. You can find it on KZfaq. Enjoying going along this journey with you!

I've realised we have the same struggles with hair being straight wanted it to be at a certin length ended up looking bad (cause of heat damage straightening every day) hair having kinks in it cut the at the salon ( I never go there) I found your channel and tried the curly girl method trying different things with hair then not sure if wanting to stick to it (I stuck with it cause my hair was more healthy) basicly very similar

Im glad you listened to my advice. Flaxseed is THE best. The other thing now is to preserve it. It usually goes bad in my hair after refresh on day 3-4. A curl enthusiast once told me to mix the gel with a hair product so that the gel can be preserved

Just something I found out: I was on a hair journey 2 years ago and I use to use so many hair products to try grow out my hair. After a year I gave up because my hair was getting dry and frizzy so I stopped using all my products and then cut my hair. Now after a year my hair is growing back super fast after I stopped using all the products, my hair is thicker, shinier, longer and just healthier. Your hair may take a while to adjust but just let its natural oils do their thing and repair the damaged hair, hair product like shampoo soak up the oils and make hair dry which makes it look "heat damaged". In one of her videos she said that so many girls have long healthy hair and don't try as hard, that is because they don't use as many products. A good shampoo and conditioner will do and was your hair every 3 - 5 days depending on the oiliness. Please like so I get noticed, hopefully someone finds this useful xx

your hair journey has been insane! its so cool to find someone who cares so much about their hair and also just let's their hair do its "thing". it's really awesome that you don't shy away from trying out natural remedies. coming from a place were other than shampoo and conditioner there aren't any hair products that I can use on my own curly/ wavy hair its really awesome to see someone else doing natural gels and stuff, so really appreciate you trying all this out! also just as a bit of advice with your hair, try putting it all up in one twist with a hair clip/claw and then take it out in a hour or two it always helps with my hair and by the afternoon it normally looks great and has nice natural curls/waves. keep up all the great vids and enjoy your beautiful hair!

Here what my mom does to my hair ,it's going near to my waist length from neck length Coconut oil+curry leaves+hibiscus flowers or leaves heat it till the curry leaves are bit crunchy and add onion at last let it not boil it so much apply to the roots and massage your hair I recommend to wash your hair less when you are in home let the oil rest long and let your hail produces its own oil it knowns how to protect it itself ,this what my mum says. hope it works because I saw your hair struggle I wishy you success 😘

I think it would be interesting to sort of examine your hair and drop the curly girl method for a while and see how your hair holds up and if it has no frizz when putting flaxseed gel on your normal hair. You said your experimenting so why not see what your hair is like without the curly girl method now that there some improvement

I like flaxseed gel for the simple reason that it's a film forming humectant. It holds moisture in the hair while leaving a film on the hair that doesn't allow the moisture to get out or to get too much additional moisture from the air

I did this yesterday xD It does wonders. Everyone should also give rice water a try Tip: massage your scalp with the gel or just put it on the routes if length is what you're going for, you can mix it with olive oil as well and leave it as much as you can then rinse

A good way to refresh waves without wetting is to use aloe vera gel on dry hair. The ones you get from Holland and Barrett should work just fine... Try to gently rake it over the frizzy bits and then use a motion as if you were bouncing your waves to bounce the gel into your hair. It works for me and I have hair similar to yours! xoxo
