It's time to try Macallan for the very first time because we've hit 500k subscribers on our channel. Girisha, Antil, Neeraj and Josh got together to celebrate this awesome milestone in style. It’s called 'ON THE ROCKS' because in earlier days there was no Refrigerator. So, they used to put Rocks from the river beds to cool the drinks down. From there the term has arrived. ❤️ C'mon just pin it up. Let everybody know the real fact, TUG guyz. 🔥😝

If the part two has not yet been filmed, get a couple of Glencairn glasses and pour a dram, nose it, and swirl the single malt in the mouth so the alcohol burns up and delicate notes appear on the palate. Generally you swirl the single malt in your mouth for 1 second for each year it’s aged (for eg 12 seconds for the 12y triple cask). Perhaps one can also talk about the triple cask and what it means, region, the Macallan distillery, age statement vs no age statement releases etc. Adding a few drops of water also opens up the scotch allowing for better nosing and tasting. It is called on the rocks because in olden times when ice cubes were not invented, then cold small pieces of rocks were used to chill the whiskey. That is why its called on the rocks

The reason why water and ice combo was liked by all is because adding water unlocks the full potential of flavours in the whiskey. It 'integrates' the flavours into an evenly balanced package, with the flavours appearing simultaneously (rather than individually). Some whiskeys need only a splash of water while stronger ones like Macallan needs a fair bit of dilution to achieve the best ratio.

In ancient times, to enjoy the liquor chilled, small stones/Peebles used to be served with the drink, which kept the drink chilled eventually...later on the ice got replaced with the stones/peebles. But the name remained unchanged. That's why the ice is also shaped like a stone sometimes... preferably can be found in any expensive bar.

For some reason I believe Neeraj, when he said that Gurgaon wali whiskey mein kuch locha hai jo itni sasti mili. The speed at which all 4 got tipsy (especially Neeraj) by drinking 4 pegs of approximately 30 ml just made that suspicion more stronger.
