Hey Chris, I’m looking at all of your wonderful equipment that you’ve worked so hard for and remembering when you use to use a lot of Uncle John’s. Really happy for your well-deserved success! Enjoying this new clearing job and it’s looking great.

I would be a nervous wreck. I could just see it smashing a building. You always seem calm about it,no stress at all. You and Cottontop3 never seem worried about that tree against the house and a power line on the other side. I tip my hat to your skill.

When I was in the business years ago I got tired of having to haul all the sweetgum to the landfill and burn it. Got to searching online for woodyards out of state and called up a few. Found out there was some pretty good demand for it. One guy offered to send a truck if I had a full load of nice saw logs...said he could pay about 3k. Something to look into ? Money coming in is better than expense of burning and hauling.

Getting that area opened up is making it look better. I bet there were lots of fireflys there in the warm spring evenings. Your last tight spot was cussing tall pines crowded next to a power line a few years ago - since then ' no big deal'.

Do gum trees normally have a darker center or are these trees about at the end of their lives? Amazing progress.
@chosen1one930
@chosen1one930 Ай бұрын
There are several types of gum trees, this is just sweetgum I believe. I don't know if it's american sweetgum or just sweetgum by the name. They have been crossbreeding gum trees from all around the world for better paper supply, fast growing and so on. The dark center grain is typical, doubtful this has to do with age.

This is what I did to my stumper. I took the torch and made a knife edge on the front side and it made a hell of a difference cutting through the roots and put a thick piece of angle iron on the tooth that way if you do have to lift up it will cut it. You won’t regret doing it I promise you. That’s my two cents for the day.

@@mula2626 I know you are trying to be smart but in all actuallity I did say this on the first video he uploaded about the graple. He got more then one attachment from Indeco at the time (like his mower head for the mini-ex) so I assume they reached out to him to try their product so he probably got both at a discount. I am just guessing, I don't know that for sure.

Do all the logs fetch the same price or are some species more valuable than others, like pine verses oak for instance? On some jobs he sends several truckloads off. Thanks for any replies.
