today i'm trying on expensive "IT GIRL" brands (so you don't have to)! i've seen these particular trendy brands - ganni, lisa says gah, reformation, miaou, and anthropologie - on social media a lot lately, so i decided to thrift & buy 1 piece from each brand to try on and test out/review for you! a LOT of "it girl" brands don't carry my size unfortunately, so i had to work with brands that carry extended sizes. are they worth the $$$ and hype? we'll see! hope you enjoy xoxoxo

Exactly how I felt. I don’t care about being an « it girl » anymore 😂 Maybe not having TikTok is also a part of why I don’t know these brands. I don’t hate the app but I never wasted so much time doing nothing so I had to stay away

The skirt from Lisa Says Gah is very cute, but come on it is made from polyester! There's no justification for a price this high with a polyester skirt cause that's basically plastic😅

i don’t want to love reformation because of the price, but the few dresses i have from them are my most complimented pieces in my wardrobe. they just fit and are so flattering and nice.

Agree! I wore a Reformation dress to a wedding and I was worried I was getting more compliments than the bride! The construction and fabric quality to make me happier to pay a bit more, but they are still super expensive.

I personally could NEVER justify paying full price for any of these brands. So I glad you got many of these pieces from thrift websites. I think it would be cool if you did a video for online thrifting!

I feel like It Girl brands are always just about people showing off that they have a lot of money to spend on their clothes. Perhaps this is trauma from growing up working class in an upper middle class area, where the other girls in school DEFINITELY liked to show off their expensive trendy clothes, and I was wearing exclusively TJ Maxx.

I own a couple of GANNI pieces, bought them second hand or on sale. And Yes, they are pricy, BUT i thought a lot about them before I bought them and I wear them all the time!!!! And I love them so much. I think they are 100% worth it, because I think it’s better to buy much less then to buy a bunch of cheap clothes that you only wear a couple of times.

I think is nice that you tell us what you "feel" about the fabric texture but it would add something extra if you read the label and tell us the composition of the garment. Is it polyester, cotton, linen, spandex? I believe that also affects a lot the price of this pieces. Just a random thought.

I would love to see you do a "must have" undergarments try on of brands that you are currently wearing, especially for your anti-chafing shorts and a try on for popilush. I have been trying to find anti chafing shorts that work for my size 14 body, but haven't been very lucky in that department. Also want to buy a popilush dress, and now they have an athleisure bodysuit, but I'm a little skeptical. Please please please!!!!

the reason rayon is listed as dry clean only is bc it shrinks to hell when it goes thru the dryer. HOWEVER i have found if you just rewet it and let it hang dry or steam it, it stretches back out and theres no issues

also wanted to note how like UNSUSTAINABLE it is to have your items be dry clean only ….. dry cleaning is horrible for the environment so it doesn’t quite add up. not the consumers responsibility but it’s lazy on the brand end to not just test their fabrics/pieces with washing techniques so that consumers can care for items properly

Somehow Reformation always seems like a scam to me lol. The prices are SO HIGH and then the products aren’t made of natural materials and the quality just isn’t there. The items I’ve tried have always been disappointing. I’d highly recommend Doen. They have similar styles, better quality and material and somewhat extended sizing!
