Trying out an Ancient Soap Olive Oil Soap

Many soap makers have probably heard about the ancient olive oil soap making process. I saw an advert about it and decided to purchase this Palestinian soap so I could experience this beauty, and quite frankly, so I could see if my Olive Oil soaps were up to par in comparison to the real deal! I would love for you guys to see and experience this beautiful soap!

Glad to see you again and yes I am learning to appreciate most Castile soap now but still prefers the Aleppo type better. I have one of mine last year Castile soap now in the bathroom and it’s a bit better since I used AloeVera for the lye solution and infused the oil with chamomile. It’s definitely a great soap. Love the square shape!

@@CreamySuds less slime more bubbles and lot of skin benefits as well. Just search for it. You will love it

I could definitely see the slime! Isn’t that so interesting how each oil has a different characteristic after it’s been saponified?

Definitely! I wonder if it cures for much longer, will the slime go away?

@@CreamySuds I haven’t cured my for longer than 6 months yet, so I’m not sure. But don’t think so. I think sliminess is just one of those characteristics of pure olive oil soap. I also made a 50/50 Olive oil/tallow soap and that wasn’t really slimy at all, plus the tallow made it a lot harder so it didn’t need to cure for very long. I think the only way to reduce the sliminess is to dilute the olive oil with another oil.
