Does the world need another makeup brand? What do you think after watching this review?

I know people are mad that she released makeup because it seems like everyone is doing it but i can tell that she actually put love into this line and it isn’t a cash grab, especially with the mental health mission. In 2013, she mentioned wanting to do a makeup line so it’s not like it came out of nowhere. The price point is also really good, the products are cheaper than a lot of the things at Sephora and I love that she didn’t use the fact that they are donating a percent of the proceeds an excuse to overprice everything. A lot of celebrity lines are really expensive but she kept accessibility in mind, especially with the fact that she made the packaging arthritis friendly by having the cap be sphere shaped because you can open it with your palms instead of your fingers.

FUN FACTS ABOUT THE MAKEUP: ☆ The packaging has a ball on top for people that struggle w/ arthritis (since selena struggles w/ that thanks to lupus) and it makes it easier for them to open ☆ The brands goal is to donate 100 Million for Mental illnes foundations. ☆ It is vegan and Cruelty free. ☆ The packaging is Eco friendly.

Selena is actually very involved in the brand and committed to small details that are actually new or not done often in the industry She has really taken accessibility to a level that’s not often done in the industry, mainly being aiding people with weak hands or arthritis (which Selena suffers from herself) by the modification of her products. The ball on the top is actually meant to aid people with arthritis in holding the product and the thickness of the liner is meant for better grip. The brushes have a little touch of a diamond hold who reflects the holding of a pencil- also meant to optimise grip minor details like that shows me that the products are very thought out and not just a celebrity cash grab - She also has taken it upon herself to support the community by pledging 10M every year for a decade, which totals to 100M for mental health - the brand is completely vegan and cruelty free - the packaging is eco friendly

I'm not sure whether y'all know this, but when you call Rare Beauty, you get a recording of Selena's voice!!! Instead of some random person's voice, Selena has recorded her own voice for the customer care!! How creative and considerate!!

Until that comment about pregnancy I thought she was a teenager...

I LOVE the choices she made with products. Every brand comes out with an eyeshadow pallet and (in my opinion) we only need so many! This is all the other products which I feel we actually need more choices in!

The primer isn't glittery....it's luminous. It doesn't actually contain glitter but rather mica.

Hi Karen! I saw Selena apply the highlighter with just fingertips. I know you used the brush first and it disrupt the foundation so when you use your fingertips, the foundation was already disrupted. She also used a sponge to apply the blush and it applied perfectly 🥰

I’ve watched several Rare beauty reviews with different skin tones and I noticed that setting the foundation with powder helps.

So with the highlight and blush - everyone set their face first lightly and applied the product with no issue!! Maybe you can try that :). Love the video!!

I have the same problem with almost every liquid highlighter I've ever used, no matter what brand. I've found that you can try two things... 1. try putting the product on your hand and rubbing it in a bit, then take a brush and softly apply it on the face or 2. use a damp sponge to apply the highlighter.

The ball thing at the top of her foundation, concealer, lip products and blush are actually for people who have arthritis. Since Selena has it she wanted people who also have to have a better grip with the products. I love how considerate she was with all her products. You can tell her and her team put a lot of effort into this brand. Hopefully they launch it in the UK

Your skin looked really good! I think you should've applied the foundation with your fingertips or the foundation brush that came with the kit. Or wetted the sponge with the mist that came with it. Use the sponge to tap the blush and highlighter on your face so it doesn't ruin the foundation.

I find that when the foundation shifts for me, it's mooost likely the primer. Also maybe try dabbing on the highlighter and blush rather than swiping or brushing just bc the Rare foundation is soo liquid-y 😊💕💕

honestly i always use my finger tips to blend my highlighter, i feel it blends way better than the brush and the colors she made was so good especially mesmerize.

There is two different kinds of blushes, they are matte AND dewy ones. The packaging looks identical though.

i think the reason why the foundation started moving arunnd when the highlighter was applied is because u should set your face first and the use the blush and the highlighter.

I’m wondering if you were just applying too much of the blush after it had already set.

If you don’t mind me asking, what shade are you in MAC foundation? Because according to the Sephora website, me being an NC35 in MAC I’m supposed to be a 21ON in Rare Beauty, but I’m a little darker than you so now i don’t know... and I don’t have a Sephora in my town so it’s hard for me to get a tester...
