I spent half of my childhood in the Philippines during the early to mid 90's. A hot summer day hits upwards of 45° (113° in 'Murica units). You come home from school sweating, grab the biggest glass in the house and drink this with ice cold water while standing directly in front of the aircon blasting at full power as you wait the 2-5min for your computer to boot up and get to the desktop so you can play some Diablo or StarCraft. This is literally a staple in my house. Like these are our options growing up the occasional like seven up or sprite if we're sick, All the apple juice and grape juice and like just juice in general, and then lemonade and Tang. And cool aid that's it. Not allowed to have coffee as a kid not allowed to have energy drinks or soda

Tang was that special drink I only ever had when going to my grandmas house n that lady was magical when it came to making it it never in my life have I ever had it as good as when I was like 8 years old going to my grandmas after school helping her with gardening n yard work with my siblings it was like a treat that nothing to could ever top it every time I’ve tried it after those days it’s just been dog water idk what it was that made it back then so special maybe it was just getting a lil reward after all the hard work that was enjoyed with my family after a day of work to be proud of but back then I never really appreciated it

Works best if you use near freezing water and more than the recommended serving.
