Trying the Alex Pagulayan double contact shot | Your Average Pool Player Live

The consistency with which this dude can nail these shots is alarming. In this video, Pagulayan explains how to hit the double contact shot that comes up a lot when playing 8-ball with a blocked pocket or when playing one pocket.
If you're familiar with pool, you'll know Alex is one of the all-time greats. He's from the Philippines but moved to Canada when he was 13, and has been an unstoppable force in the billiards world for the past 20 years.

Came so close to making this shot yesterday! Thought i could make it without the 1 ball in the corner, but it kept hitting just above the pocket. Gonna keep practicing this one to make it more consistent

I've seen Alex for the first time in one of the billiards halls (Sunshine billiard hall, close to Lucky 13) in Manila. It was in the late 90's and Alex was already making a name for himself. He was with a manager and they were looking for an opponent. Unfortunately, after an hour of waiting to hustle somebody, Alex never got an opponent. LOL

I think it's left english in order to hit the ball . Cause if it was right, the cue ball would not hit the 8 or it would hit it from a bad angle wich would be a huge miss.

Jack Breit, AKA Jersey Red, made that shot famous years ago... Except he didn’t have the other ball there to help make the ball.. According to Red... He was giving Fats 8-7 and Fats had one hanging... So, Red shit the sit, made it, made Fats ball and scratched and spotted 2 balls and won the game..
