The shuttle not having wings giving real lift (apart from the sneaky quantum rudders) is actually quite accurate to the real one. It's aerodynamics was optimized for reentry and it's gliding abilities were rather limited. The astronauts compared it to trying land a flying brick. They had one chance at landing each time, no go around possible. Which is why it needed a super long landing strip and several drogue chutes to stop.

Yep. It was done so that they could test the shuttles glide properties. You want to know whether it can glide unpowered for when it re-enters the atmosphere.

I think they actually did it. At least one time to test a shuttle landing from high altitude (so without engines on).

@@Nankech shuttle wouldn't have the power to ever do this. The shuttle is launched from a rocket.

since Yzuei is good at and seems to enjoy the aesthetics of building I would be interested to see a series of sci fi and movie vehicles and maybe a battle between then (race or dogfight)

Day 20 of asking for an Torpedo bombers vs Shark on high seas. The bombers can only use on Large prop and have 2 torpedos that they can only be dropped below an set altitude. The shark can only use melee attacks and armor plates don’t count to the block limit. The controls get split like one player has pitch and yaw control and the other player has roll and bite/etc. controls.(sry if my English is bad I’m german)

Love it. A great example of what this game can do. I'm sharing this. Telling parents a game like this is way more beneficial to their kids developing minds than games like cod or 2ks.

try a rainbow maker on the probe and maybe a quantum rudder. that way you can see where it's going and it can maybe Orbit with the quantum rudder. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 maybe a whole video with a big space shuttle and a bigger satellite. try making it Orbit something.

4:29 ...and some landing gear buddy. I don't know why, but I watch your, scrapmans, kans and cosmos videos, and no one is building landing gear. if you cant land it you cant lift off the ground or you have to crash the aircraft or die. with the spaceships now you don't even need a wheel but just some kind of landing "legs".

Your idea on how this works is a bit incorrect, the Orbiter Vehicle ("Space Shuttle" is technically incorrect, Space shuttle includes the fuel tank and extra rockets) only took off with the use of a fuel tank and two solid rocket boosters, the boeing was only used to carry the orbiter vehicle from wherever it landed back to the space center, the orbiter vehicle cannot go into space by itself, it needs the fuel tank and boosters.

Actually the aircraft used was more commonly an AN-225 with the soviet shuttle and the shuttle was never launched from a plane ( US or soviet) 🤓 ☝️
