Trying to Add Patina to this Custom 1/25 Scale RC Shelby GT500 🎨 + Installing New Springs

A quick look at a little project I’ve been working on this past week. I needed to do some suspension tuning, and maintenance on this custom RC Shelby GT500 that I built and showcased previously. I decided to use this opportunity to experiment with adding some weathering and patina to the body. Overall the result looked cool enough, and it was a fun process. Looking forward to attempting even better results in the future.

And of course I remember that the GT500s used a fiberglass hood after I do the weathering 😆 We'll just say the brown on the hood is dirt. 👌 Thanks for watching everyone. 👍

Try using burnt umber and brown and black for rust . And for grease stains use pail yellow and Matt white also different climates produce different types of rust the possibilities are endless when it comes to weathering 😊

They also make a Paint that will produce real rust its pretty cool to see all the weather stuff they make today. I remember back in the day they didn't have anything like this on the market. I would definitely be interested in a start to finish weathering build video in the future. 👍👍

For heavy rust, I'll cut or drill out a small area and then use a sewing needle and a lighter to make some tiny rust holes, heating the needle, not the plastic. A little bit of super glue to make the area sick out a bit also. Then paint it up

Hi MakeitRC, I was wondering if you know anyone who has converted a 1/12 scale model motorcycle kit into an rc bike or if you can help me because I am looking at making two motorcycle kits from Tamiya into running rc bikes. I am also interested in making a video about it to document my progress on it. The problem I am facing at the moment is that I don’t know how to make it work but I also want to try to keep some of the details intact. The two bikes I have chosen for my project are the Tamiya 1/12 Ducati Desmosedici and Tamiya Honda NXR 750 86 Paris-Dakar rally winner. The one big challenge that I will face is making the front an rear suspension to work, If you have any suggestions or tips of what I can do to make it work let me know it would really help me out as a modeller but as also an rc enthusiast.
