in essence: Asterion and Wyll are just treating this like something they know, which makes sense. They immediately have empathy for the situation and treat you like a sick person. Gale, Shadowheart and Karlach are weirded out and a little grumpy about it, but nonetheless want to help you Lae'zel is fucking delighted. Jackpot in the murder waifu department, just need a better time and place.

To me Karlach felt more like "Awww, it's sweet you thought you could hurt me if you tried!". Wyll reminds me of animal rescue around anxious aggressive animals. Astarion is "been there, done that", quite probably disassociating from his worst self and applying the same logic to Durge. But Shadowheart and Lae'zel just crack me up with the former's kindergarten teacher and the latter's "I'm equally horny and pissed about this" behaviour.

I just realized Astarian always knew about Alfira. Took me a while to remember that High Elves don't sleep, plus he's a vampire so he wouldn't sleep anyway, and they even show that he doesn't. When you end each day, you get a cutscene of everyone sleeping with their hands across their chest. Astarian's are to his side with his palms facing up as if he's meditating. Elves trance for a long rest. Even if you perfectly hide the body, if you talk to him after the Urge, he refers to you as "My knife-happy friend"

i always thought astarion's reaction was the best even though i never saw the other ones. after seeing this? astarion's is still the best along with karlach's. cause unlike others, they understand you. they're not afraid, not mad, not disgusted, they both joke (astarion saying we ask before we bite and karlach straight up roaring). they also didn't *demand* answers, nor said anything that would make your character feel worse (like shadowheart showing fear and saying stay back, lae'zel straight up saying she'll kill you).

If someone *had the urge to kill me and said they didn’t want to, the first step to helping them is figuring out what the fuck is going on. I mean - it seems like Tav already fucking killed someone in camp already. Everyone was extremely calm and understanding, considering. I feel like this scene in particular hints that the Dark Urge was originally the Werewolf character that was scrapped. With the mentions of "the beast that killed Alfira", the attempt to bite, the growling, and Astarion mentioning that it will be over by dawn, this all feels like a remnant from the Werewolf. Honestly, as much as I like Durge, I think I would've preferred the Werewolf.

@@LeFisheboi For me it's actually the other way around. I feel Durge makes more sense because of their connection to the plot and one of the main villlains, and I think the Werewolf could've had a more interesting dynamic with the party, especially since you could've had it as an NPC as well.

@jindo5 Durge is a whole new can of worms because we know what its making us do but no clue as to a why vs. Werewolves who we already know the settings lore on and what their gonna do and the entire dilemma there, the mystery factor is much more intriguing Also, me and many other ppl would kill a werewolf npc on sight because they don't wanna lose several npcs for this 1, Durge being PC only makes that call impossible to make because your the problem and you need allies

Leave it to this game to have everybody waking up horny af (except Karlach for understandable reasons). Wyll, Gale and surprisingly enough Astarion were the sweetest/least threatening (or maybe that just exposes my clear preference for men). My favorites in no particular order are Karlach (she's just so cute🤭), Astarion (supportive flirty puppy, he could genuinely relate and it shows🥺) and Lae'zel (she was ready to end you....and digging it🤣).

I stupidly just really like Gales. I can't even explain why? Just the most generic "It's going to be alright, you're you!" to him then calling you RABID X"D The whole time he's sat out, legs compeltely calmly extended toward you with his hands on the ground like he's at a goddamn picnic and not watching his loved one become a crazed maniac at his toe line. Growling to him just saying "That's fine, let that anger out however you need." like homie it could be a hungry growl.
