My husband told me about your channel - this video to be exact. I love old houses and seeing the before & afters. So, I have been binge-watching all of them since you first purchased your house. You two are such brave souls! But I absolutely love what you have done and look forward to watching your future projects. Your bathroom is gorgeous! I really wasn't sure about all the dark green paint but when you changed it to the new shade, I was sold. You have a great eye for design. Great job! By the way, I'm watching from the Canadian East Coast. We bought an old farmhouse along a tidal river. I laughed at the "You sounded like a Canadian" comment. Just for the record, not all of us say "eh" but if someone bumps into us (or such), we are known for saying, "I'm sorry." LOL!

Just for future reference, those hinges are adjustable. You can lower or lift the door and bring the doors closer together with the adjuster screws. I like the pantry better than a coffee bar, we don’t have coffee bars in the UK.

next time you have to lift a cabinet, take the doors off. it'll be much lighter. also, please screw the 2 cabinets together through the face frames, they'll be more sturdy. you also might need to put some insulation or expanding foam on the seam on the back side to stop the smell from the basement. if it's musty, get an air purifier and a dehumidifier down there, it'll help.

Why did I not think about removing the doors? I've moved a lot of heavy furniture by myself and I've always removed as many doors and drawers as possible to make it easier. Slipped my mind this time! I was just too excited to get it up there.

It would have either been a foot print or a shoe print, and I think feet are easier to wash :)

Not an illooosion if you didn't apply primer first :) Primer on new/raw surfaces seals the wood, drywall, plaster, etc. - without primer the paint is absorbed instead of sitting on the surface. You should scuff sand and prime everything and then repaint or it will always look odd and be more difficult to keep clean.

I hand sanded it before painting and acknowledged that it still needs a second coat :)

Both cabinets are securely screwed into the adjacent studs. They aren’t going anywhere :)

@@jerrodandmarlee Haha yeah, sorry about my caps there but I swear, every time you hit with that sledge hammer, I was cowering in my seat for your eyes, as long as you were safe, that's all that matters, wasn't meaning to sound snappy, just concerned. your cupboards look great btw, much nicer than a coffee bar would have been :)
