Trying to FIX an Xbox One with NO Experience

I paid a total of £32.00 for this Xbox One and failed to fix it. I chose to do a Livestream and get some hints and tips from you all to see if we can get this working as a group effort. Watch until the end to see if that happened 😁 This Xbox didn't power on when we first got it, so through trial and error, we try to fix it.

Very nice! Like your new blower tool as well, pretty handy! Sure beats forking out cash for can after can of duster. I may have missed it, what did you use to remove the stickers? Just IPA?

Yeah I stupidly recorded this on my phone and the footage just wasnt there when I went to edit 😅 IPA is 100%. I bathed it first aswell with warm water, to get the first layer of the stickers off. Then IPA to finish the job 😁👊

My honest thoughts... Before the stream: That Xbox One looks like it was previously owned Nemo the Clownfish. The amount of rust means this has had it. Sorry Joey, I'd say this is beyond elite restoration. 10 mins into this video (more or less where I'd got to dipping in and out of the stream): This is an odd issue (where the fan is reluctant to spin and the operating system boots up), but desperately close. Come on Joey! I'm sure it's just some stubborn microscopic dirt/corrosion blocking the electron flow. End of video reaction: This is insane! Joey and his community are miracle workers! Get in there! Stez managed to persuade you to dismantle the working one then. 😂

It was a really cool Livestream. Thank you all once again. It was fun to rewatch it as a sort of "Best Off". And now the console looks very great. I'd like to know the profit but I also wanna know if you cleaned thath filthy fan😂

My xbox I got in 2015 has been acting up and recently decided to not turn on. I think it has a similar problem with rust, dust and etc

this console is behaving just like mine, I'm gonna copy your moves minus the multi meter and the PSU (I turned a regular PSU into an xbox one compatible) which worked fine despite having the fan running always just to see if mine has the same issue as yours, hopefully will turn on again, otherwise it'll be around 40USD straight to the bin with a modded PSU with no devices to use, wish me luck!

UPDATE: either my PSU is faulty or the console finally died because the fan did a tiny movement like yours, but mine didn't turn on.

Biggest pain is just cracking open that shell… once thats done its soo much better.

Don’t know if you know but you can take the motherboard out of the faulty disk drive and put it in another one so you should try that
