So she starts playing and I’m like “yeah she can clearly play alright let’s see how this goes” then she starts putting bits and pieces together and I’m like “you had my curiosity, now you have my attention”. And then she cranks the speed up and just puts it all together…. Oh Lordy. Impressive.

I’m not gonna lie, I hit a wall and didn’t wanna practice. Even though I knew how to practice, I never stuck out the process. But sitting and watching you learn a song, not be good at it right away and still sound as good as you are in other videos just awoke the fire in me that 18 year old me used to have when I finally learnt how to do solo’s and stuff. Can’t wait until I’ve finally pushed passed the boundaries that I wanted to surpass years ago

Love these ‘learning process’ videos. Here’s a challenge that’s been bending my ears over the last couple of weeks on and off… the guitar solo in Animotion’s cover of Obsession. Mostly pretty simple in D but a couple of speedy runs buried in a dense mix that are giving me grief. See if you can get them…

FYI, you can easily make the full size Spark battery powered with a $16 USB to 19v DC cord hooked to a power bank. And when it dies, you just switch power banks instead of recharging the unit. The cordI bought is currently sold out on Amazon, but it was the Ripcord brand (must be 19 volt). Works perfectly. Edit: Ignore the guy in the comment below he's looking at the wrong cord. On MyVolt's website it's the AA932MS, but they are sold out. That hooked to a power bank and you are totally battery operated with the Spark.

Just looked at these. They convert 5volt USB to 19volts, but only supply 480maH, when the Spark amp requires 2.5amps. I'm not sure how this can be expected to work, it's not supplying enough current for the amp to work.

From a bass player, you get mad respect from me. I don't say that out of spite for guitar players or because I think there's some sort of "guitar mentality." But I DO very much respect your technique and musicality as well as your ethic. Great musicians become amazing when they work for the music instead of themselves. And you seem very music-driven (rather than ego-driven).

Might not be a popular opinion, but, you could check out Elixir strings, I've tried a bunch of different brands but I always come back to them, not only are they hella durable, but they will also not tarnish your fingers. Personally I would go with Polywebs as they sit in the middle of coating thickness to "regular" string feeling ratio.
