Well this one took a while to put together. With all of the 40 years of transformers history, it's a near impossible task. But here's a rundown from across the continuities of every single faction I could find, obviously the wreckers, the dinobots, but also quite a few you might not know too.

The reason for Valve’s defection was never confirmed, but we know it happened after Whirl joined the Wreckers, and we know Whirl was (indirectly) responsible for the deaths of Valve’s brothers Springarm and Wheelarch. So it probably had something to do with that.

I'm fairly certain Knock Out joined the Autobots at the end of Prime, so he probably should've been mentioned during the segment on Team Prime

I love the Wreckers. Last Stand of the Wreckers is probably the best Wreckers storyline ever written and one that truly showed how the Autobots were in many ways no better than the Decepticons in their actions and methods. On the surface, the story is about the Wreckers taking down Overlord and liberating the prison Garrus-9 from Decepticon control. But in reality, the REAL mission was about capturing the prison's super computer. A computer which contained the trials of every Autobot war criminal's crimes. Crimes that were so horrifying, that the trial's judge Tyrest ordered them to be kept secret until the war's end, knowing that they could be used as the ultimate Anti Autobot propaganda.

Im surprised that transformers dont have those encyclopedia books like dc and marvel. I think transformers has way more than enough to make an enormous encyclopedia book

There has been a few but with there being so many different continuties with rights licensed to whoever with no real restrictions or anyone overseeing the work it's really difficult to collect it all. The most famous is probably transformers the ultimate guide by DK who did all the marvel and dc ones back in the mid 2000s. Hilariously though it was decided to exclusively cover the then current Dreamwave Generation One continuity, which had barely started meaning half the book was just stuff made up specifically for the encyclopedia. With fans hating it for a multiple reasons e.g. not being able to spell names right, contradicting existing lore, some lore it introduced being immediately retconned, treating the cartoons like shit e.t.c.

We do need a new Transformers Encyclopedia similar in style to the Transformers MTMTE books from Dreamwave. I would definitely buy that encyclopedia right now.

Here’s a lil group you missed: The Powerdashers. They’ve never had any real big appearances besides cameos n whatnot, but they’re a thing. Sometimes they’re one character who can choose a body a will, drones, or separate characters. They recently just got some repaints of Siege Weaponizers in the Generations line

I will suggest the Female Autobots, "Shield of Solace", actual made it more possible to bring everyone to the Transformers fandom, I think it saved the fandom. As for the Decepticon side of the best team discussion, I can't think of her name, but she was the one in Cyberverse (I think) that was disguised with her helpers as Autobot leaders, telling the Autobot to hunt the Decepticons down. She knew they were 2 political factions, but only had 1 planet they had to live on together, and I think Optimus helped her find that bipartisanship. Anybot know her name, let me know, I just can't think of it.

My group would be/ grimlock, prowl, ratchet, red alert (cybetron military version), rodimus, heatwave (rescue bots). Most would be g1 except well the ones listed as not. But I feel like heatwave because I feel if he wasn’t in a kids show he would very likely kick butt.

By the way. Sludge, Dinobot, was originally named "Slag". Well, Hasbro had to change his name. As "Slag" is a slang insult in UK English.

Sludge has always been Sludge. Slag was changed to Slug, they didn't really think about how similar the namesmwould turn out

@MrNormalPerson you actually missed a faction, on the bots side, the animal themed minicons, the weponizers, I love they where part of some of the recent toyline from the tie in Netflix war for cybertron series. Like, Tricerashot, who is sort of part of this group called the C.O.M.B.A.T bots who minicons, or beasts who turned into heavy duty weapons for the normal sized Cybertronians to wield.

I wonder if we'd somehow get a GALVATRONUS PRIME (Reformated AUTOBOT MEGATRON) VS GALVATRON (STARSCREAM Altered As UNICORN'S Harold). Possibly even get a Heroic BUMBLEBEE VS Evil GOLDBUG (BUMBLEBEE'S Evil White Duplicate, BUGBIT). These would probably make an interesting storyline of The TRANSFORMERS.

Megatron and Starscream as the leader and second in command, respectively. Bulkhead, pretty much all of the substitute Autobots from animated, soundwave, and the Stunticons (i’m going for the traditional lineup, but each member is from a different universe, so they’ve never worked together before.) I don’t quite have a name for this substitute faction yet, but I will have a reply to this comment with said name once I come up with it. Also, anybody can help out the name if they want to.

Most powerful for me remains the "Battlestars" team. Having not only chonky titan in their team and a starship bot, they had most powerful form of Optimus Prime to ever be made in G1, and all this could combine into one rocket launcher truck. It took down invinsible six-armed Megatron

I personally like the idea that blades, boulder, heatwave, and chase are the last remnants of a pre-war cybertron, with the rescue bots being pre-war cybertron's equivalent of earth's rescue services, and the main four were the last rescue bots from before the war. This was alluded to in the show, and theres really no other fiction at all in the entire rescue bots continuity at all to contradict this. Nope. No other fiction. Just rescue bots and the sequel rba. Nothing else. Definently no books, video games, or cgi tv shows.

The hydrobots was a three bot team that never had toys and I think only appeared in idw. Im not sure you mentioned them but they aren’t to noteworthy, one was in the lost light series and another was named aquabat. Im drawing a blank on the third one while typing this but yeah, not that cool or noteworthy just boats n stuff.

Technically that title doesn't even make sense. If you're still calling them Autobots then they aren't a separate faction at all, they're a subgroup. If they were actually a faction then they wouldn't be Autobots. The title should actually be "Trying to list EVERY AUTOBOT SUBGROUP" Because listing every Autobot faction is super easy barely an inconvenience, I just did it four times in this post. Every Autobot faction is Autobot. Now it's 6 times.
