Oh that's so clever! I'm a librarian so we use that type of plastic covers to protect the books, never thought to use it in a bookbinding project before haha nice work!

I know exactly what you mean! It's such a great way to preserve your books without making them look too different

Why haven't I thought of ever trying to do this before?? This is genius. I have a laminating machine, but I'm still trying to learn how to use it. I might just use the laminate cover or pocket or whatever it's called and use invisible glue to attach it--thoughts? Or maybe make it stick with a heat gun/blow dryer? Is the black material you're using for the spine just black permanent vinyl like what you'd use in a Cricut machine?

Oooo that might just work, I haven't used that technique but I don't see why it wouldn't work 🤔 and as for the black material it is just black adheasive book covering I got from the office supply store in my town, it is similar to permanent vinyl but it's used more for kids to put on there text books to make them colourful or cool 😂 so it's very cheap and I decided to use it for the spine ✨️💕

@@beautifullybound Update: invisible glue worked at first but once it dried, it puckered. The heat gun didn't work at all. I ended up getting a pack of 40 adhesive sheets for like $9 on amazon lmao

@@JLToddTheDictionPuppeteer oh no! Well at least the materials for this technique are cheap so if you end up like me I just re do it like 10 times amounting to only a few bucks 😂

would there be a way to do this with a spine design too instead of using the black? also, thanks for the video!

Yes absolutely! You would need to be careful in your measuring but you can absolutely do it that way too. Just make sure you are using a thick cardstock

You're almost at 1,000 subs! Then once you get to 4,000 watch hours (at least last I checked), you can apply for monetization!

I know I'm getting really nervous 👀 I'm bearly at 2k watch time but once I get there I won't monetise certain videos that feature fanfaics to avoid profiting off them 💕🌷

@@beautifullybound I honestly don't know if that would count as profiting off the fanfics, since it doesn't have to do with the actual content of the fic and just a process of creating the outside visual/physical item. I wouldn't think so, personally, but it also never hurts to be cautious :)

@@JLToddTheDictionPuppeteer I'm just going to lean on the side of caution and I don't want to offend any authors either. But I am very excited to hit 1k 💕🌷
