Nathan, you have a fine young son in Bruno. I believe you need to start having Bruno help you and learn the different jobs on your farm. it would be good for Bruno to learn work ethic & teamwork with helping you. He will learn the sawyer business, farming and take over your business in the future down the road in time.

You asked what we think about that mower. Here's what I think. You should get rid of most of that grass. What purpose does it have? Grow something useful on it or, if you don't have the time, let someone else grow something on it and share it. Love your milling by the way.

I really love all of your purchases that will most definitely cut down on maintenance and allow more mill time , all smart investments! Also love your investment in Bruno , I’m a Beekeeper here on the spacecoast of Florida and we run a small cottage industry apiary and honey supply out of our home . We are in our 8th year , second year of mentoring our oldest son to learn all the ropes of beekeeping and sales , he like Bruno will take over the business in about another 5 years or when I can no longer handle the heavy loads of honey boxes . Hope to see a video with you training Bruno at the mill ! Totally enjoy your videos , thanks !

Hey Terry, My Grandfather kept bees also, at one time he had over 300 stands scattered all over N East GA 10 of those were mine that I helped capture from swarms. He passed away in 1972 and I became the man of them and because there were so many we sold most of them. I got out of the bee business to pursue my career in Law enforcement but My Mom keep what few we had left. When Mom passed in 1986 I again assumed the master of the bees We used Walter T. Kelly equipment all those years but unfortunately I lost my bees to wax worms and drought. I'm retired now after 44 years of LE have thought about about getting bees again, closing in on 70 not sure I can keep up with more than 4 or 5 stands but the thought is still with me. Good Luck with your bee's. John Toccoa GA

I don't know if you have read this book or not but I am sure that you would enjoy it. It's called Alex Stewart Portrait Of A Pioneer, it's about an old very knowladgeable man that was raised in Panther Creek Tennessee, he was born in the late 1800's he made baskets, barrels and such very talented man. He tells of the hard life that he had was raised very poor with no shoes and talks about most kids ran around naked because they couldn't afford clothes it's an amazing story that all should read it will have a lot of people really appreciating what they have in life. How old do you figure that walnut tree is?

I get it, Nathan. I'm a native Phladelphian now living in western Chester County, so I know all about adding that extra syllable. I would shop at the Ack-a-mee (Acme) Market, my Dad rooted for the Ath-a-letics, and we would donate used clothing to the Sal-a-vation Army. It does, however, drive people crazy when I say "crick" instead of "creek." Safe and happy travels!

Time for Bruno to begin helping out around the farm. Teach him to run that tractor with the belly mower and let him cut grass. Take him to the sawmill and let him start learning now how to safely operate it. Everything he learns now will make his adult life better. I know, I was mowing when I was 8 on a riding mower, just the flat parts, no hills. I was doing it all at 12. I was also driving nails and pulling wire when I was 12, I built a 20x20 dog pen, complete with 2 foot deep footings and concrete blocks when I was 13. And building houses in the summer earning wages when I was 15. Until the knees got so bad a few years ago I was pretty self sufficient. Let Bruno learn these things and he'll thank for it some day.
