You can still stun them with sticky globs or spoiled apricorns. So if you dodge their attacks you can stun them after enough of those and catch them with something like a heavy ball

Unfortunately, two things. One, nobody figures this out on their first playthrough. And two, it takes four Sticky Globs at least to stun an Alpha. So just imagine how many Spoiled Apricorns Mud Balls, or Snowballs it takes to stun an Alpha.

I've had this situation, trying to sneak up on a shiny Chimchar just for this psychotic Alpha Infernape to pop up out of nowhere behind me on that one island. Caught the Chimchar but nearly died because that Infernape spammed Close Combat.

Yeahhhh it was rough. Hisuian Samurott, a quarter hp Dialga, and then a handful of Pokemon I was training for the Path of Solitude. Kricketot, Magikarp, Bastiodon, and I think a Bidoof. Infernape ran through all of them and I only won when my Samurott got revived at the last moment and used Aqua Jet Hydro Pump.

In reality, Legends Arceus is not a Mystery Dungeon game, and you're a human in Legends Arceus, and as such, if you let it run into you in Legends Arceus, it'd simply force you into battle, but would not kill you.
