Same. Mine would complain it's too expensive, too spicy, too salty, too oily or that we can just make it at home. That's why we don't take her out anymore she just makes everyone unhappy. Your mom is a dream!

But just personally my mom has never been this supportive or warm to me despite a life long attempt to earn her approval, including by becoming a lawyer and giving her thousands in allowance every month. She’s still never been this supportive to me lol. That’s why I think supportive Asian parents are so special ❤️

I’ve never been because I was so nervous about spending that much money on something I didn’t even know if I’d like but this video hinted at all sorts of possibilities for a more affordable meal! so much fun as always thank you ❤

For the quail eggs, I've gotten a fork and pricked them so the marinade can get deeper into the egg. Really helps the flavor.

For the bean curd hack, dip the roll into the broth for a second to soften it up. That'll make it much easier to roll and it won't break apart.

For those cold sensitive teeth: Colgate sensitive has twice as much of the antisensitivity ingredients for the price of a regular tube of toothpaste. Helped me a lot. Also, if you use Listerine, switch to the purple one.

for the beancurd roll with beef and shrimp paste; next time wet the bean curd in hot water before unravelling. works a lot better. also, after rerolling put a toothpick through to hold it together.

For the marinated quail eggs, you should prick them with toothpicks or a fork. That will help them marinate faster.

Oooooh!!! The hubs and I have to go to Haidilao!!! I would love to try the egg hack but cut each egg in half to get the marinade inside too 👍 we’d love to try the jook hack too because I love jook (and mushrooms) Oh and the sweet potato noodles one!
