AP/HP method taught by you in another video is more efficient i think. 2nd question can be solved using below method: Let initial speed = S Initial time = T First we are increasing the speed by 10km/h. And in the next case, we are further increasing speed by 10 more kms. Therefore, the three speeds are S,S+10 and S+20 Now you can observe that Speeds are in AP. Therefore we can conclude that Time will be in HP. Initial time is T. In the first case, time is decreased by 1 hour. And in the next case, it is decreased by another 45mins. So the three time entities will be T,T-1 and T-105/60 Now as they are in HP, we can use the formula of HP to find the middle term. Applying the formula B=2AC/A+C, we can find T=60km/h (1st question can be also done in similar manner) Hope this helps someone looking for AP/HP method!

in 19:19 , why we must use ratios to solve the ques further, it is increasing the complexity of the solution, my solution: once we have found the original speed = 12 km/hr, use the equation for Speed increase and time decrease,i.e t = ( s - s2) / s2 so, t = 12 - 2 / 3 = 3.33 hrs or 200 minutes and, original distance = 12 * 3.333 = 40 km(approx) , much faster this way.

In the cases explained there are errors in case 2 and case 3 that are when t2 is taken the formula explained is t2=tS2/s+s2 but the correct one in denominator is S-S2

In the first question we can solve for time by using the formula of case 1 T=((s1+s)/s1)*t1 But we are ending up with different answers. Can anyone help me out.

No bro , answer will be same... using this formula we get T = 10/3 hrs, which is same as 200 mins.(i.e.200/60)...... convert 40 mins to hrs

I think its better to use the concept of inverse proportion i.e. n/d increase = n/(d+n) decrease to solve the questions. This will allow us to not make any mistakes while applying the formulae given.

I'm also pondered about that.... but for applying the n/d method we need the question to be asked with increase or decrease in fraction (eg: 2/3rd frm original TSD).. but here in this model they only gave the exact increased speed so, ita better to use this.

If the increment is S1 than the proportional increase will be S1/S so if s increase by s1/s than time will decrease by s1*t/s+s1

In the last ques speed should be 60km/m bcz you are calculating it in mins. How is it 60km/h. Please explain.

No bro , as we have equated both side as equal. If you convert them as 60/60 and 105/60 . both the denominator ( i.e - 60 ) will get cancelled.

For the first question, we can simply find the actual time using the formula t=t1(s+s1)/s1 t= 40(12+3)/3= 200 mins=10/3 hour

nope, it is 45/60 that is 0.75 hours therefore 1hr 45 mins is 1.75 hrs
