He can't. Copy rights goes to the banner always for any movie. Even the lyricist can't say it's his lyrics when he sells it for commercial purpose, same goes to every technician. They can only say "I did this song" but can't "that's mine". Sometimes Art gets slaughtered in the industry like this.

Damn, immaculate Delhi vibes This year's Diwali, I was quite lonely and went to Delhi for a one-day solo trip (from where I study it's 3hrs by train)... Coincidentally, I had been hearing this song on earphones during the train ride and the entire next day, this song was playing in my mind... Everytime now I hear this song, I'm transported back to that Diwali day where I made that solo journey to Delhi and roam ed around... Incredible..!

Original will remain the best. This song was written by keeping the plot of Delhi 6 in mind. Avishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor did complete justice to this song with their natural gestures. While in the recreated version, they have murdered not only the composition but also the entire plot of this beautiful song.
