This movie was released when I traveled to India, and I loved it so much that I watched it in local theaters whenever I went to a city.(I have DVD^^)I still remember clearly when I was watching this movie alone in Calcutta. Behind my back, some Indian youth mocked me, a foreigner, and said, 'Hey can you even understand Hindi? ' They were giggling and throw popcorn at me and make a lot of noise throughout the movie, but Sharukkan in the movie was so gorgeous and India was so lovely. I wonder how the young friends grew up then, though India has grown a lot more than it did then.

The kids today will never understand what life was like before high speed internet and instant access and gratification, when the internet and smartphones were not so readily available then.Ah, how we would wait for our favourite songs to play on 9xm and chotey and bade with their cringe shayaris 😂. Even though we have everything on our fingertips easily today, I would still say it was better before, that there was even pleasure in waiting for the songs to show up on music channels, a pleasure that kids today won’t experience. I’m so happy to have been born in 90's to have experienced the best years of Bollywood movies and songs, hit songs and movies, one after the other, and iconic ones.

im a 2001 kid, but yes, oof- my childhood was literally my grandmother and i sitting down in front of the tv and listening to songs over and over on mtv and 9xm and zoom tv etc and all songs were either silly or cute or romantic- no random item numbers which need parental supervision....interspersed w random segments about bade chote and their weird comedy XD

This movie is a hidden Bollywood gem in my opinion! Such a good movie with a great message and very inspirational. I’m sure a lot of NRIs/foreign desis probably shed a tear or two watching it.
