When Bondy started daycare, they noticed that her right leg was longer than her left. An X-ray showed that Bondy’s hip was dislocated. Experts in Scottish Rite’s Center for Excellence in Hip confirmed that Bondy had hip dysplasia. Her hip socket did not cover the ball of her upper thighbone, which caused the dislocation. Bondy underwent surgery and wore a cast for 16 weeks.
“For her to be so young and to have surgery and to be in this cast, it’s been amazing for them to explain everything to us,” says Melissa, her mother, “and everyone is just so helpful and kind.”
