PREMIERING THIS WITHOUT CRITICALLY WATCHING THE VIDEO AW YEA!
How can this possibly go wrong? ;)
Episode 2b - Composing for C700. A lot of people have issues with it. Hopefully this video will help you with them. This video went about 5 minutes longer than I was hoping, but it was necessary to explain most if not all aspects of C700.
Again, please leave your questions below in the comments! Feel free to ask questions about any other delay plugins you may be using and I'll do my best to answer.

20:1 is a good ratio still! Don't get mad over a few dislikes, Mathew! So many people click that button without knowing how much work has been put into a video like that, only hell knows what triggered that impulse in that moment. Only thing that seems improveable to me, if anything, is that your DAW sound seemed a bit quiet compared to your background music, which made it slightly difficult to focus at times. Apart from that - thanks again for the best tutorial on the C700 that I've seen on the interwebs by miles! Your channel is definitely underrated imho :) I'm enjoying all the work you put into the visuals (mario sprites!!) recently, also the FF for the UI walkthrough was a good decision.

@@dushdy7160 thanks! That means a lot. I worked super hard on this video. In the next one I'll make sure the ducking is a little bit more intense so it doesn't drown out my daw audio or my voice

i wasnt the dude that disliked it, but honestly ive been coming back to this tutorial for about a year and its genuinely a tough tutorial to follow, idk if its due to how fast information is being given, or the overall complexity of the actions. but ive only gotten more and more confused and lost every time i try to use this video to help. maybe an updated version of this video or a more in depth breakdown of stuff like multi banks, midi controls, pitchbend/vibrato would help folks like me that got stumped

14:45 has completely got me stuck. im using fl studio for context, idk if you're using cakewalk or another daw, but i think explaining the way you route your midi channels and what midi in and out do, plus the phrasing "tell it to use the sample you want to play" idk what that means, because i thought you were routing only one specific sample

For some reason, the SPC's I export that aren't songs loop anyway. I have the loop set to 0.0x or 0.1x and it still loops in DSP700! And to add insult to injury, C700 hasn't been updated in ONE YEAR!
@winterfol373
@winterfol373 4 ай бұрын
Is there a way to manually set the start, loop, and end positions? I am using openmpt and my song exports to spc fine, but the loop and end points are incorrect because there is no way to get the playhead value other than starting the song and playing dance dance revolution with the set buttons - and the values usually end up being inaccurate floating point values that aren't aligned to the patterns at all!

so, i downloaded the playercode.bin file, i set all of the start, loop, and end positions, i made sure to check the "export to .spc" box, and i played through the song multiple times, but it's not exporting to a .spc am i doing something wrong?
@tssf

Yeah it won't generate a file unless you have a song name and the other meta data set so that might be your issue. You'll also need to make sure you set your output folder

So I'm loading .spc files into the plugin from the Chrono Trigger OST and it's showing me all of the different wave forms used in each song, but I don't know how to toggle between the different waveforms. Do I have to set each waveform to a particular parameter on the Piano Roll?

@@tykirenwillingham2871 to switch between samples you need to set the patch information up in your midi sequence. You need to change program information and such to be able to select your sound.

I'm a year late to the party, so I don't expect an answer BUT how are you setting up the channel structure to do the PMOD thing? It all happens so fast :D
@tssf
@tssf 2 жыл бұрын
Pmod is supposed to work that the channel before it is what drives the modulation. So if you have an instrument on channel 2 with pmod enabled, channel 1 is supposed to be the waveform that's driving the modulation :) hope that helps

@tssf
@tssf Жыл бұрын
No that's not how it works unfortunately. The song just be composed and utilize one instance. Think of c700 as the SNES and if you add more c700s, you're adding more SNES's. As long as you assign your channels to the one c700 and stick to 8 channels it should work

Hey guys, i wrote a 2:00 minute song with this vst to put it into a smw hack. But the exported spc doesnt work with a hack. I guess i need a txt file for a hack. Is that right? Can i make it compatible in any way?
@tssf
@tssf 2 жыл бұрын
I don't make hacks and stuff with it but I feel like c700 uses a different sound driver. You'd have to convert it to a n-spc based driver like addmusick but that's MML based.
