yes!! im happy yen press took the plunge to publish the series it’s just a shame the lower popularity means so many volumes are going oop now and it sends the message to me that they may drop the series all together but hoping that’s not the case but YES so excited for season 5, since the manga is not caught up to where season 4 ended i’ve been waiting years to see the conclusion of this race i swear TT

@@tsukkinotes It's a kind of a slow-burn romantically despite them having tension, but their affections growing part is interesting. I'd say it's a more "are we really in love or is it idolization?" dynamic by the end of volume 5. Volume 6 seems to be a bit of picking up the pieces of where 5 left off, and despite loving it, I'm a bit reluctant to get back on it bcs it's been around 9-10 months of waiting for 6 and it would've been easier to jump into it if I read it back-to-back. I got through emotional/drama parts in other stuff more easily since I read (and watch) completed series (at least usually). I need pull myself up, get my fragile emotions together before starting 6 (again, not bad, the drama is so tame compared to lots of other mangas, but I deal bad with any bit of drama when it hits me in my heart even just a tiny bit).

@@BananLord thank you for the insight! and i agree haha that's why i tend to stay away from series with too much drama, so painful for my fragile heart haha but a little bit is always good for character development etc, and if that is how their dynamic ends up i'm def more interested than i was before

for sure, my opinion is basically that even though it is a really nostalgic series and it has it's great moments, some aspects are really outdated and sometimes offensive (homophobic, etc)

@@tsukkinotes how did you find all the volumes and about how much did you pay for them? I’ve got volumes 5 and 6, have located 1,2,7,8 from various websites for a reasonable offer however 3 and 4 are going for hundreds of dollars. Did you spend that much or did you find them cheaper?

@@evanschulze2037 you should be able to find volume 5-8 for retail or under but ya 1-4 are the tricky ones 🤔🤔 i used to have library copies of 2 and 3 that were beat up that i got for like $20 each but i ended up getting a full set on ebay for $300,, but i had been tracking listings for over a year, i would say i would not pay more than $400 for a full set

thank you! and yes in this adaptation persephone and hades have a healthy relationship, the trigger warning is in regards to an experience persephone has with another god and throughout the series one of the main plot points is dealing with this and overcoming her trauma and i think it’s really well done (if you read the series on webtoon there are warnings at the top of every chapter if it contains certain topics and the book itself also has them on the first page),, and i’m glad you liked dress up darling TT it is so wholesome even though it may not seem like it from the age rating

Yes i make my own shelf risers, they are made out of wood super simple just a long plank screwed to 2 shorter ones and they work great, you can use anything really though i've seen people use tissue boxes and other random stuff to stack their manga, as long as the surface is flat it should be fine

even though it is i guess in the first 1/3 of the series it is still a very innocent romance like they don’t kiss (spoiler) until like volume 17 and their progression is very slow in that aspect (not like i want them to like have sex in volume 2) but there are other characters in the same series who get together more quickly and compared to the next series i showed my love story the couple is together in the first volume so hopefully that makes sense! plus after volume 10 the focus of the story shifts a bit to other relationships and characters so the story is not only about the main couple and observing their every move, but i actually like this about the series!! it’s a very organic relationship progression especially since they are in hs they shouldn’t rush things if they don’t want to

I thought that when they got together that it would be focused on them and they would do things that couples do, but the fact that they kiss for the first time in vol 17 would make it a slowburn. Though I love series that actually focus on developing characters and their relationship with others, so I definitely agree with everything that you are saying. Plus it is my favorite romance series ever. I just kinda feel like a lot of people missuse the word slowburn when it comes to romance in shoujo, because in Komi can't communicate or Rent-a-girlfriend, they are apparently still not together and they are pretty far ahead in the series. That is mainly why I asked that question :)

@@butter_fly3539 for sure, maybe i should have said the relationship is developed slowly throughout the series or something along those lines, but since it is marketed as a romance series as the main genre i think it's more expected for the main couple to be the star of the show where as something like komi is marketed as a shounen comedy slice of life series so fans maybe shouldn't be shocked that the couple hasn't gotten together if that makes sense?

I kinda just wanted to show some differences, but they are kinda two different series focused on different things. (Also want to add i haven't read komi, i have watched it, though I have seen some spoilers of the manga. Rent a girlfriend, i am not interested in checking out but I did see a few spoilers on Twitter.)

hi i made my own! i used the tutorial by themangasloth if you search on his channel “how to double your space” and he shows how to do it but it’s just 3 planks of wood screwed together

i'm sure it's suffering from being out of stock like most series rn, barnes and noble has some of the volumes in stock and you can see when the others will come back on there like for example it says next month for volume 2 permitting it doesn't get pushed back

the movie was unfortunate, im glad they released an ova bc that ova covers the only redeeming parts of that whole arc like mafuyu and uenoyama were so unbothered doing their own thing and whenever they came up it was like a breath of fresh air, i think akihiko and haruki are such a bad couple akihiko had so much to work out in his own life and haruki was very … how do i call, not using his brain

pretty much any romance manga in my collection i recommend but my faves are love com, wotakoi, my love story, high school debut, and kimi ni todoke
