I live in Oregon, I don't remember this, but Givin that this was posted in 2011, I was 3 at the time and we didn't have cable back then, so yeah, some scary shit right there

I was 8 at the time, and even when I was shown the pictures of the land that had jutted up about 4 meters on the coast of Honshu, I didn't think that had happened the day before. Having something so surreal happen is either something you remember forever or something you can't grasp as being real, and forget. With me, it was the latter.

@@OfficialKimIsNoob Yeah the impacts were felt by people close to the coastline as is typical with tsunamis, but it really was a historical event so people beyond there heard about what happened. I feel like back then people weren't nearly as reliant as the media (especially me, because I was 8 haha) and if things like this happen nowadays, we are much more likely to hear about it.
