Only seem to find the ultimate one. Which is 700 euro. So I'm better off changing to a bike with stock shock absorbers as it would be cheaper. Or am I missing something? I ride a canyon grail. Selling it and picking up a grizl would be a lot cheaper.

TT bars! I've always dreamt of installing one of those onto my own horse but then I never did, a bit pricey maybe for someone who's on a tight budget. They looked fantastic on your gravel bike and sure they felt comfortable. Wish you all the best down in Morocco, brace yourself for high temperatures just shy of 30 degrees Celsius 🌞

For solo gravel, didi clipons, headshock up front, leaf-spring 4-axis seatpost shock ... 65mm Easton front = more miles a watt, there is a tradeoff until you hit 17-20kts steady gusts higher headwinds. Ymmv 🥂

Agree about people being grumpy, I also ride gravel towpaths and bridleways but have to remember people and animals take priority on these. When I ride my gravel or mtb bike on these pathways always NOT have to be in a hurry and give way to people not vice versa. Pity we don't have fire roads like USA. Does look great scenery there, definitely don't ride these trails in summer!

Terms aren't exact but I would call those aerobars, tri-bars have the top forearm supports but not the drop bars, instead a narrow & flat 'bull horn' bar sits below. I am an aerobars convert BTW. I find that, apart from the comfort, dropping in to them is worth one full gear faster.

Suggestion: Not sure if loner bars, but trim the rearward bar extension to not risk a knee into the ends

Used to love aero bars on my road bikes. Can't bend over that far and ride anymore but if I could....... Trails with so many walkers and runners just kills the fun of riding a bike on them. Same problem in out particularly since the pandemic. Also, I wouldn't ride a gravel bike with out a suspension fork.

That looked like a lovely ride if there weren't so many people. How does the rudy fork compare to the redshift suspension stem you have ridden for so long? I'm curious about your experience with the TT bars too. Seems like an idea worth trying. Also: Do you have any particular or unusual recommendations for cycling in the lake district? I'm currently in Edinburgh and considering another trip for some gravel riding.

I put tt bars on my cx bike looks odd but on the long head wind sections although I put down less power I get the same average speed for less effort. same issue it is sketchy so keep it to 15 -17 mph and not on the descents.

The way I think about pedestrians on cycle paths is the same way I think about cyclists on roads; they're allowed to be there, and it's the faster, heavier vehicle's responsibility to keep the slower and more vulnerable users safe, even if it slows you down a bit. They can help out by avoiding being obstructive when it's safe to do so, but sometimes you can't help but be in the way, and I think that's okay, even if it's frustrating when you're trying to crack on and ride!

Yes, pedestrians rarely pay attention to signs so they're less likely to know whether or not a path is shared by cyclists. There's a bike path in Exeter that pedestrians use all the time even though they're not meant to be there! That's where a good old-fashioned bell comes in handy :)

@lukewalker1051
@lukewalker1051 Жыл бұрын
@@jonoharper4729 Gravel has animal spirits which might not be in alignment with the resonant frequency of the body in more of a TT position when riding gravel. TT bars are less safe when riding gravel because riding gravel is more 'pitchy' and control better achieve with both hands planted on a conventional handlebar. Much worse on gravel than on the road and many believe TT bikes are less safe on smooth tarmac as well. Also relates to access to brake levers and need for panic breaking. She may only used them in certain situations she deems safe. To each their own. Some riding near her may give her more room as most do on roadbikes riding with TT bike riders which I do all the time on my roadbike.
