3:26 The fact that he really asks "why fault?" shows how not even pros know the serve rules... The way he threw it into his body, his head blocked the line of sight to the ball and it also looked like even the contact point was hidden.

I think it is really good that the umpire actually dared to fault the serve as it was clearly illegal throwing the ball in such an angle instead of just throwing it up. I have a good friend who 100% of the time does it and whenever I tell him its an illegal server he says "even the professionals do it and noone ever says its wrong" and sadly he is right, most of the umpires don't dare actually enforcing the rules on the professional players.

It’s very hard for truls to win against better players with his cheeky style he really should also focus on backhand topspin rallies instead of punch which really not gonna work under pressure.

Old version of Truls had more chances to win. A newer one tried to be fast but lost a perfect placement. Truls is progressing, next time he will definitely win.

Why couldn't Truls play the same level as before?- Truls doesn't have the same level of motivation to crush Darko as he does against Alexis. Also, what we witnessed in the semifinal was an absurd level that cannot be sustained, and likely led to a letdown in the final. The European approach is perhaps in a sense more poetic and definitely more emotional, which has its advantages as well as drawbacks.

The ball had topspin, Darko tried something between smash and topspin by letting the ball dive a bit but his shot was weak.

@@pongoholic2667 Watching Trul's strike frame-by-frame (and screen magnification), the previous 3 or 4 frames the approach _looks_ like he's delivering topspin; the strike frames show a sort of side-swipe/push action. There is scant or no topspin, and by the time it gets to DJ's racquet, no spin at all.

i would agree but unfortunately themarket does not. And Tabletennis tried to be more TV friendly (plasticball, games to 11 etc) but it just doesnt seem to connect with a wider audience. I dont know why that is, because to me its inherently interesting with how fast it is. Then there is unfortunately also the problem of production. how often do people complain about the camera angle and it is rarely changed. then in this tournament there was game in the women section that had no audio. That also does not help. @@plunder3624

Truls is uncomfortable playing against Jorgic. So he doesn't play as freely, instead tightens up. Same thing happened 2 years ago in the final.

Was Moregard too aggressive? Why was Moregard wanting to finish every attack? Darko played well on the defence and exploded only when it would earn him a point.

Darko was lucky that Timo Boll didn't show up. Less than 3 weeks ago Darko got defeated by Timo 1:3 in the German National Cup Finals. Timo still is the REAL European Champion!

Зачем эти звуки из гачимучи, теперь уже Трульсу? Наверное всего 1из 7 мячей, при розыгрыше которых он стонал, выигран. Это о чем-то говорит, статистику не обмануть. И снова ключевой матч проигран по не относящейся к настольному теннису причине. Неужели топы не видят, тренеры тоже, тот же Перссон, что пыхтение только вредит, что стонущий и завывающий игрок чаще промахивается? Ну поговорите с учеными, наверняка они подтвердят, что стоны только мешают концентрации. Если надо акцент при ударах на выдохе делать, можно дышать через зубы как боксер, какие проблемы? Но орать то зачем, как на выставочных матчах?

Granted Chinese still dominate the discipline, but understand that it does not make it more valuable. Also consider that top european have some wins against top chinese, and some good prospects like Felix can eventually raise above.

Yes and no. I enjoy his games, but does have an issue. His treatment of Anders Lind was insulting and weird; he has to know Lind has mobility problems and making fun of his walk, I don't know. It's like Darko has social/head problems.

@@TTWglobal FULL MATCH | Darko Jorgic vs Anders Lind | 2023 European Championships TTlondon2012 . Also TT11TV. Lind smashed his back up in a car accident a few years ago and sometimes walks stiffly. I think he also plays with a sort of stiff-back style; but that's just my impression.
