You realize pop has been around forever, right? Remember the monkeys? Disco? All of that 80s shit? People like you act like there was some shift away from a golden age where the likes of Susan tedeschi were worshipped on the radio like Egyptian gods. I got news for you: that never happened. So stfu and enjoy the music you like while pop music fans enjoy their music.

Imagine how good this is going to sound when they let 'em out of the basement... The last 3-4 years or so this band is just killing it on whatever they're playing in any setting and regardless of who is sitting in with them. So much fun to see them at 'work'.

Love the just casual way Derek rips out that solo in the rehearsal. Like "yeah that should work". Effortless, master of his craft. And this group has just been rolling like a freight train since day one. Amazing

Rehearsing in an oversized closet and still a better mix than several shows (not any of theirs) I've seen in the last few years. Great musicians working together to serve the song.

i have that same pearl travel kit. i'm not a drummer but if it's a jam at my house, that's as much kit as a good drummer needs. the really good ones get a hi-hat if they know how to use it sparingly.

Actual talent and artistry and commitment to soul.. all three are legendary. I'm still very sad about the end of chris Robinson brotherhood such an underreported but awesome band while it was.

@@JoeLazzara yes but CRB was a Chris solo project. More of a Dead kinda vibe. The other main member, guitarist Neal Casal, passed away a while back and I would imagine Chris is done with that project. Chris and Rich are touring with sidemen as TBC tho

As a Black Crowes and TTB fan, this is a really precious treasure. Besides, I can hear Memphis horns influence here. Great rhythm and sound. Maybe, someday, you gonna have a huge southern music festival and invite Larkin Poe, Yola, Brandi Carlile, Highwomen, Mavis Staples, Bonnie Raitt, Keb Mo, and lots of other roots music musicians.

Me, when I watched the documentary about The New Basement Tapes, I'm a singer and was really stunned by Rebecca's backup vocals and noted her name, pretty sure her sister was there too but I remember Rebecca, from there I looked her up and discovered their band.

Oh man I totally agree ! I discovered Larkin Poe about about a year ago during lockdown (following a link to some Duane Allman stuff). I went to their KZfaq cover page and it wasn't until about 3 hours later that I came back to earth. SUCH talented ladies - and even though they have been around for quite a while, they are just getting started in my opinion. #1 on my bucket list to see live at the moment !

The Black Crowes gave a free concert in the park in Toronto in 1992. Unforgettable! Half way through they unfurled a giant cannabis flag that said "Free us". Thanks for the memories Chris Robinson!
