There are 3 things that will prevent Shane Cameron from ever becoming anything more than a journeyman. He cuts easily (never seen anybody in boxing cut after 3 minutes). He does not have the hand speed (if you dont have the KO power of Tyson or Tua , at least have good hand speed to nullify power hitters). And his lack of footwork and head movement. He is a standing upright target, waiting for the sleeping pill. To his credit, he has a lot of heart.

I conceeded after the fight and the first punch that dropped Cameron that night. Tua would beat him at least 90% of the time, any day of the week this age. Fit or not, he always carries that power and no matter how fast you can avoid punches, sooner or later they will land. Shane is not yet (or may never be) in Tua's class. I admit that after Oct 3. I think I would agree. Some things you just have and some you just don't (chin/cutting). Honestly, I don't think there was a lot he could do to put up a better fight that night. You can criticize his training camp, but Lolo is very respected in this country for his kick-boxing training (and to a lesser extent his boxing) and Shane would have to look to the states (and get more expensive) to find a better available trainer. He's not made of money and obviously doesn't have amazing contacts yet.

I'm a Shane Cameron fan obviously, but sadly what you have pointed out is quite true. I'd like to know what his health/fitness trainer has him doing. Because he ain't taking a leaf out of Lee Parore's book. I think Cameron is really being built similar to a weight-lifter. Really strong body (excluding cuts but he cant help that) but that doesn't always mean a strong punch. He has a lot of muscles but lacks the fluidity needed which David has a lot of it. He's very rigid and that makes him slow.

If Cameron fights again (which he says he will) I'll still watch his fights, but I'm not sure what to hope for. Maybe he can salvage something from his career but I'm not sure how much. I'll of course be supporting Tua in his fights too. I only comment on youtube like this because I support cameron and people here give him a lot of hate cause he called Tua out before. The ranking system, I don't believe is 'corrupt' but it's certainly not accurate. I'm not sure if Friday was the only top 200 fighter shane fought, I doubt it, but I'll leave it on that. But they have to work on activity and such. Otherwise Tua could sit in the top 10 for the next 10 years regardless of if he fights anyone. Because he could always just train hard, make a comeback and beat someone. So I agree that it honestly doesn't mean too much, but they have to have some way to go about it.

Tua shouldve at least toyed with cameron for a little while.. Tua has finally reached his prime and he looks hungry..

Also, if you listen to the strategy they had planned for the Tua fight. On paper/theoretically it was sound. Stick the jab, use his reach and height advantage and if he gets in close then tie him up. Very similar to what Lennox used. The problem is Lennox was faster/taller and had a hugely greater reach to make it work. The problem was he couldn't take those shots and no matter how evasive you are, eventually you're gonna get hit... and he did. On the night, not alot he could have done diff.

Being part samoan and living NZ, I'm proud of the achievements he's done in his career and representing those two countries in the international scene and putting NZ boxing on the map. I was a Tua fan before I saw Shane Cameron and I still am, it was being billed as whoever loses this fight... well it'd be their last. I backed Cameron because I thought he had more of a future because of his age and such ( I was wrong ), but I didn't want either fighter to lose.

You're talking like the same people who backed Mike Tyson in his fight against James Douglas. Yeah, the odds were heavily against him, but every boxer has a chance. No matter how small it is. A lot of people (myself included) thought it could have gone either way. There were a lot of factors in-theory like tua's weight and his age. But they turned out to be non-valid in the fight. And the chances of it going Shane's way were very far fetched.

Did you even read what I said? I didn't say Cameron would win. I said he would have had a better chance had the fight not been postponed, the extra months did wonders for Tua and it shows.
