Man, if you aren't feeling uplifted after listening to Tuba Skinny, you have too many troubles. Magical stuff.

No microphones, no amplifiers - simply talent ! GREAT !

They are on my top ten bucket list. I could sit and listen to them all day. I don't understand why the streets aren't blocked with people.

that's one hell of a clarinet player and the band excellent as always.

As much as I like to hear Erika sing those blues, I like to watch her animation on the drum.

When I was young in the 1950s i saw Ray Charles sing this at the Frolics Ballroom in Allentown,Pa and to think I also saw Fats Domino,Jerry Lee Lewis,Little Richard and others before i was drafted into the Army and was with Elvis Presley in Fort Hood,TX and Germany.

When you are confined at home and you try to work earing tuba skinny and finally ended up with your saxophone playing I got a woman chorus !

Good ol Brother Ray would be tickled if he could hear this! I've never heard a ragtime-Dixieland jazz group before that was so much fun! I sat through the whole song, just grinning from one ear to the other! So glad I got to hear these folks. Ireally dig their takes on other old established classics.

I played this music in the mid 70s to mid 80s Jersey shore and Philly area. Now live in Hawaii and if anyone from here sees this post to me as I want to start a band like this here in the islands! It will be a hit.. Nothing like it here! Aloha!

It always amazing to me as to how people just walk past - as if nothing is happening at all. I sometimes feel sorry for people who cannot feel ( inwardly resonate) the delightful vibration of a jaunty , danceable rhythm . "Dead souls?" - yes - many of them.

Tuba Skinny plays traditional NOLA music, and does it very well. This song is Ray Charles' first hit.....Ray Charles early in career recorded at Cosimo Matassa's studio. This song was co-written by Renard Richard, of Louisiana (various relatives living in Donaldsonville).

Interesting - I can actually hear each instrument. I've heard lots of studio recordings where I couldn't do that. AND, as a native of NOLA - yes such street performances are common in the French Quarter. But don't expect to encounter them anywhere else in NOLA.

But oh, that drummer/singer and those merry little breezes getting a peek!
