Here is what TUBESTEADER say about the Magnezium
MAGNEZIUM™ is a two-channel preamp inspired by the sound of the highly-coveted "Magna" Super 59 amp, crafted with input from B. Gibbons (hence the "Z" in the name.
MAGNEZIUM™ features two fully independent channels - for low and high gain - and has an option of external switching between them via the 1/8" side-mounted jack.
The low gain channel has a rich bottom end, paired with a Voxy chime at lower gain settings. The midrange comes forward as you turn up the gain, delivering more colored and tastefully saturated tones.
The high-gain channel is perfect for those classic Southern rock tones. Cranking the gain past noon will take you firmly into harmonically rich ZZ Top-riffing territory.
The MAGNEZIUM™ has an all-tube signal path and true-bypass switching. It's equipped with a pair of 12X7 tubes operating at full 250VDC - all converted from a standard 12VDC input.
A toggle switch on the side of the preamp offers two output modes: a higher output for direct connection to a power amp or a cab sim and an attenuated mode with a treble cut for connection to the front of an amp.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

WHY do so many KZfaqrs call a broken up or overdriven tone a CLEAN setting?!?! So painful. In other news, I just played an actual Magnatone M80, 1X12 combo yesterday, and this pedal absolutely captures a great deal of the M80's sonic characteristics...um...for 1/10th the price!!!

12 Volt DC or AC? many of those tube preamps needs AC I answer to my own question, it wants DC, so no problems. I checked.

How does the magnezium sound with an I R loader? Are there enough highs to substitute for the front end of an amp? Kind of like how the RevivalDrive has Preamp mode

Yes it is a preamp circuit, the attenuator switch also acts as a treble cut for putting into the front of an amp.

It specifically states that running into a Katana will void the warranty, get you canceled, and start WW3. 🤪 It's a preamp that can run into the power amp or FX loop in, or front of any amp. You sure you need more overdrive sounds for that amp?

So very strange that someone who does vids to demonstrate gain sound for reference tone _doesn't_ use a Les Paul that has _humbuckers_ like nearly all Les Pauls.

Lol are you joking? The very first Les Pauls had P90s, and lots of guitars today do as well. You don't need humbuckers for gain sounds. You can get amazing tones with plenty of gain with P90s or single coils. And if you're thinking he should be using humbuckers so that you can get an idea of what it will sound like with whatever guitar you have, you can forget about it unless you have the exact same pickups and the same amplifier, because it'll sound completely different otherwise anyway.

@@TheDanielGuy23 Sigh Almost everyone who hears a Les Paul expects it to have humbuckers. That's just the way it is since they are _by far_ the most common pickups used in a LP. Just as almost everyone expects a Stratocaster to have single coils. It doesn't matter if the first ones or if some Les Pauls have P90s. Anything outside of two standard deviations is not the best way to demo something. It's actually very simple. With guitar sound demos people expect to hear the familiar: 1) Les Paul (or similar) with humbuckers 2) Stratocaster (or similar) with single coils

@@Mamo878 You say "people" expect Les Pauls to have humbuckers, and that "people" expect demos to have a single coil strat and a humbucker LP, but it's really just you, dude. P90s are common pickups, and nobody who knows guitars would bat an eye at an LP with P90s. Besides, P90s and PAFs often sound more similar than you'd think. And sure, it can be helpful to demo gear with both a strat and an LP, and many reviewers do, but it's no industry standard. Besides, there's so many different kinds of humbuckers, and so many different kinds of single coils, and so many different types of amps, that you should never expect the sounds you hear on a gear demo to match what you would get with your own rig, even if you're both playing a Les Paul or whatever. The demo just gives you a rough idea of what to expect. So please, quit complaining that people don't do things exactly the way you think they should. Because they never will, and that's a good thing.
