You are easily going to be making 100k once you get through the first few years, and it's not uncommon for cops to be earning 300-400k after promotion, they can earn more than the cities mayor. Not even including the corruption of overtime fees, the free stuff you get, the best benefits money can buy, EARLY retirement, and guaranteed pension. What other jobs out there are still offering pensions? And it doesn't even factor in the lackadaisical work environment that literally allows you sit in a car all day doing nothing, overtime scamming, best union in the world, free stuff. I'm going to add a new perspective as I've been thinking on this. Obviously there's way more going on than they're letting everybody know. It just doesn't seem logical that five Black ops wouldn't know that they were going to be filmed and could possibly had killed this person and then just drop them off at the hospital or whatever. Like does that even make sense to anybody? And you have to remember it's not just one cop, it's all 5. I almost feel like it was done deliberately. Now these people been on the force for a long time there's cameras everywhere why would they want to chance something like that and go down for murder. But if they knew that they could do it not getting trouble and make it seem like they got arrested more than that would take all the focus off what's going on and concentrate on that dude's death. They create special units because there are areas of the country with disproportionate crime rates, especially violent crime rates. Sorry these are usually black areas. Although, ultimately, the officers are legally responsible for causing Tyre's death, he is not an innocent bystander in this situation. He bears some of the blame for his death by the decisions that he made that night. When you are non-compliant and resist men with guns, batons, stun guns, handcuffs, and the authority to detain you, you are risking personal physical injury and possibly even death, regardless of who you are or what color your skin is. Those officers were out of control, no question about it. They had no right to beat him to death, but they did it anyway. And that is even more of a reason to cooperate and comply when dealing with cops. You don't know if you're dealing with cops who are looking for an excuse to bust someone's head open that night or cops who are mentally stable and reasonable people. So, why take the chance? If you do, you're putting your own personal safety in jeopardy and must share some of the responsibility for the outcome.
