You can absolutely not buy Israeli products, you just cannot tell people that you do, and tell people to do the same. Also boycotting is only the B in BDS, Divest institutional investment from Israel, and Sanctioning Israel entities, are MUCH more damaging and that's what the college kids were pushing the schools to do.

Well I just learned this about Israel: on October 10, 2001, two Israelis, one of them a dual citizen of Mexico, were arrested with bombs, firearms and false Pakistani passports in the Mexican Congress!!!! Given the nature of Western media in 2001, the story was very easily supressed.

Yes, it does. Way before the USA, the UK, Canada (my country) and 22 other nations put various sanctions on Apartheid regime of South Africa (SA) in the mid-1980s, people in various countries individually or collectively boycotted South African goods. The movement was very strong in the UK (and because of Canadian ties to the British people, we were also active), it was called AAM (Anti-apartheid Movement), there are websites explaining the history of their actions. It is interesting to go back and read up on how they mobilized ordinary people to "look at the label" and not buy South African products. For 35 years before the government did anything, citizens boycotted buying fruits, wine, textile etc from South Africa. Other important steps were cultural and academic boycotts. I remember when I was in university during the 1980s, we specifically were careful not to buy or drink South African wine even though it was good and cheap. In the province where I live, you could only buy wine from government run stores, we constantly complained to them about selling South African wine. Small acts but they accumulate to large steps. By 1989, the internal and external pressure (of which economical, cultural and academic sanctions were a crucial part) caused the beginning of the end of the apartheid regime.

Like a lot of people, I used to respect Glenn Greenwald. It was his behavior regarding the Syrian civil war, that upended all that. An investigative journalist casually dismissing atrocities, just to go full-blown "I don't need to do any investigating, it's obviously just the US, blah blah blah..."

Checked out the comments on the original video. It's the expected bigotry and hardly a mention of Tucker pretending to know these laws, which have been widely discussed in his field, existed. Tucker understands his audience; people who prefer to be lied to and leave if told something they don't want to hear.

Well there's two other letters in that acronym. Sure they can't demand you not-not buyt isreali goods. But they can punish for advocating for sanctions against isreal for their actions. And can punish you for advocating for american companies, colleges, government institutions to divest from isreal. Boycotting alone doesn't work at that scale because...well; ya still pay taxes. You still need to engage in the psuedo monopoloy of energy abd telecom companies. Your money is paying for bombs one way or another and with the anti-bds laws they can punisb you for trying to stop that.
