I visited America from Scotland. Lost my glasses in Gainesville Fl. I explained my situation to the optician near the Fresh Mart. He sat me down, poured me a refreshment, got another staff member in on crunching the numbers for new glasses. He ended up sending me to a cheaper business as his was super fancy and he didn't want to charge me $600 for glasses while am on a holiday. Not to be upstaged, I visited that Fresh Mart a week later and handed in a tray of cinnamon rolls. Americans are lovely. Big country. Gonna be some misguided folks but everyone I met did you proud.

I drove from Miami to LA with two mates of mine three years ago. I’m English. Whilst I knew I was going to really enjoy myself, nothing could’ve prepared me for the beauty of your country, nor the wonderful hospitality and kindness we were shown by so many charming Americans along the way. Your country is an extraordinary place, and these are extraordinary times. You will get through this. From an outsiders perspective, everybody needs to take a step back for a period of much needed reflection. Following this, citizens need to start listening to one another once again. Politics stops at the waters edge goes the old adage. You’re all brothers and sisters at the end of the day, regardless of what your political convictions may be. Witnessing the rapid rise of China during this pandemic has been very alarming indeed. The world needs a strong America more than ever. I have no doubt, once wounds begin to heal, you’ll all rise to the challenge. Failure to do so will only play into the hands of your adversaries. God speed.

I'm an Australian who has been to the US mainland 3 times (and twice to Hawaii). I drove large parts of the mainland each time and I was blown away by the beauty of the natural environment. The first time there was when I truly appreciated the deep passion and patriotism Americans have for their home country. It is like no other on the planet. Lefties just need to get off their phones and out of the cities to appreciate this.

As a foreigner, I have seen almost 40 of your American states. Met and talked to more people than I can count. Did the hikes, the museums, the 'tourist traps', and more. Sometimes by plane, and in my earlier days, much hitch-hiking and car-camping in weird places. You Americans are fabulous people, and among the friendliest I have ever met after seeing many dozens of countries. It is a shame what the media has done to you.

The few times I've listened to his broadcasts I heard nothing but ideologically driven opinion with virtually no substance. I think @OneEyedKeys nailed it by saying "it's a shame what the media has done to you" in that so many American's have been led to uncritically drink up stuff like what comes out of Carlson Tuckers mouth (as evidenced by the comments on this video).

But if you recognize "the evil of the media" (fueled by corporate money, predominantly from conservative sources supportive of the Republicans) "Fox News" has been playing one of the most significant roles in that division - and still does, if you just watch several of their commentators now. For someone living in the heart of Europe, it is shocking and appalling to see how much the techniques of Fox News have in common with the propaganda of autocratic systems like Hungary, Poland, Russia, the former German Communist(!) regime GDR and even the fascist Germany of the 1930s under minister for propaganda, Mr Goebbels. And while they and many other more radical media channels als still carrying on doing that, most people commenting here on this KZfaq channel don't seem to care or even notice at all - but are simply pointing the finger towards "the others" - just like Fox News moderators are doing it 24/7. It's disheartening to see that, and it does not seem to end anytime soon. I talked to people who worked in government some 20 years ago and they said that back then the politicians of both parties were interested in working together, were discussing and also spending time together - whereas today, they are not even talking to each other anymore. There's just obstruction - and it has become most vehemently during Obama's years (and is surely going to be continued with the next administration).

@@GraceLifeMinistries We are above 20th place in both reading and math, 5th in life expectancy, our infant mortality rate is going higher each year (no not due to abortions either), we rank in the teens in healthcare, and so on. We only rank 1st in three metrics number of people incarcerated per capita, number of adults that think angels are real, and military spending where we out spend the next 25 people on the list combined and 20 or so of them are our friends. We aren't the greatest nation in the world anymore. People aren't clamoring here for high end high education jobs the way they used to, and several of the best secondary schools in China, Japan, UK, Germany and others are rated higher than ours are. There is no evidence supporting that we are the greatest country in the world.

I love America...when I was there I thought of getting lost where no one would find me and I could stay forever. I’d love to move to America, Canada has become crazy, we’ve lost our sense of freedom and sovereignty. People here have become so ignorant, they think every other place is below them, and that corruption doesn’t exist here. I came in USA 12 years ago. $350 left in my pocket after the cab dropped me off on Times Square. No english, no relatives, no friends. I only had a dream and Times Square didn’t scare me, gave me inspiration. I’ve learned English, made tons of friends, met a brown skin girl (I’m white), married her, have 3 kids, built a solid business, saved a lot of money, bought two houses, opened a design studio on Times Square, bought 4 cars. Have money for all bills, schools, healthcare, FOOD, travel. America is the best country in the world. KEEP AMERICA!!! THANKS AMERICA!!!!

Should all “immigrants” go back to “their countries”?? I LOVE this country, and actually follow fact based news, don’t listen to propaganda like FOX and made a decision, as more than half of the country did, that Trump is bad for the US. It’s easy to sit back and say “the left hates our country” and not do any research about who and what Trump is. I didn’t care who won in 2016, thought either candidate might be ok, now know that Trump was a disappointing disaster. People here at FOX need to stop feeling so persecuted and maybe understand that your “enemies” might love this country as well and have a different opinion as how it should be run. I believe in God and country, our free & fair elections, and know Trump is trying to dismantle everything for political theater, to funnel more money from his supporters and to avoid lawsuits.

For movies, it was arguably 1930s-1960s, for pop music I'd say 1950s-1990s at the very latest (and it started to decline rapidly after the mid-80s when rap had taken hold). I know next to nothing about the various types and eras of gaming but I'd be surprised if the same didn't apply there too.

Friendly reminder that in a lawsuit alleging slander from Tucker’s show, his legal defense argued that “ nobody takes what he says seriously” effectively confirming that tucker is completely an opinion show and not factual or even serious enough to be construed as legitimate news

@@allihipp6088 No, every channel has a news show and an opinion show. He lies in the opening that "This is a news show." He's not! He's an opinion show. In order to be a wise consumer of news, you need to know the difference. All HE does is spew his opinion. Whether you agree with him or not just know it's his show is his opinion not necessarily truly factual. Even when he states facts, he skews them to his opinion. So, viewers beware. Same with other news shows like Hannity and Laura Ingraham. Same with liberal news. You have to watch both and do your own research make up your own mind. I've looked up videos that Tucker talks about and when you see the whole video without his opinions tied to them, I come away with a whole different perspective. FOX only shows you what they want you to see. Frankly, it's exhausting. Most people won't bother and just go away adopting his views. That's what they count on to manipulate people on both the liberal and conservative media.

Even if you don’t agree with it , live with it that we are all entitled to our own opinion. I promise it won’t be as bad as your ppl try & tell you it will be. Wow! Did you say Upper Peninsula? Most people don't realize we exist up here! It is a beautiful place on Lake Superior. The lake is like an ocean, it is so vast & mighty. Great fishing on the rivers, forest streams & inland lakes. Ice fishing:) Dairy farms, lumber industry, most are small town living. Good, strong, kind people. A great place to raise a family. It's where I'm from. ;):):)

"It's why we fought off the metric system all these years and thank heavens we have"... Um could someone enlighten me as to why the Imperial system is better? Metric is entirely based 10. To convert from one unit to another you just shift the decimal place a corresponding number of places. 52 kilometers is 5,200,000 centimeters. To convert from miles to inches you'd have to go 52*8 to convert to furlongs, then times that by 10 to get chains, times that by 22 to get yards, times that by 3 to get feet then finally times that by 12 to get inches. And then you have a whole different system for liquid -1 ounce is 5 gills, 4 gills make a pint, 2 pints make a quart, 4 quarts make a gallon... And yet another completely different system to go from grains to drachms to ounces to pounds to stones to quarters to hundredweight to tons... It makes absolutely no sense

I didn't learn to love it until I was 25. Yes mental conversions are extremely difficult, but its beauty is not in conversions. The stories behind the origins of the foot, furlong, fluid oz and so on are wacky and having an intuition in what they mean is just cool -- it connects you to history like speaking an old language does. By comparison, metric is boring, strict, and repetitive. An interesting application is in cooking, where a foreigner would be hard-pressed to get the right ratios of ingredients expressed in lbs, spoons and cups by converting to metric (ignore the fact that most chefs eyeball everything). In a way, that makes certain foods uniquely American. Do I wish more Americans understood metric units as well as the rest of the world? Absolutely. Would I want to see it replace imperial as the de facto system in the US? Well, it would feel like losing a bit of our culture...

I don't understand what can be so "American" in a measurement system that originally came from United Kingdom. The system should make life easier, not more difficult just because it's "part of the culture". However, metrification hasn't completely happened almost anywhere in the World. The French went to the extreme after the 1789 revolution since they did want to dispose everything that represented of old monarchy. They even tried to convert time and arc scales to use 10 as a base number. Still today France is one of the few countries where the size of TVs and tyres is expressed as centimeters instead of inches.
