5 жыл бұрынThis year the vendors at the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil show brought some fantastic finds to offer for sale. This is the largest gem show on earth and lasts for over two weeks every year. There are about 50 venues scattered all around Tucson with thousands of vendors.

Growing up in tucson as a kid, you see it every year and its cool and all but you never actually realize how incredible the gem and mineral show is until you grow up and see how many people go every year😅 i helped out at a booth this year at the TCC and it was really fun! Really great and pretty video, already making me miss the next one!!

This is the first year that we haven't gone to the Tucson show in 6 years. THANK YOU SOOOOOO much for posting this!!!! I just got my Tucson fix....lol. As a geologist....it's like going to Disney World for me.

@asta how are prices at the tucson show? Like can you find better deals than are offered online at places like etsy or instagram? I’ve always wanted to go but if there aren’t great deals it would be a really expensive trip for me.

As a geologist that understands crystallography and mineral chemistry, for decades I wanted to go to this famous event. I finally had time after I retired! It was amazing but I was shocked that the prices for most everything was basically beyond the reach of normal people. These thousands of vendors don’t bat an eye at charging thousands to several tens of thousands of dollars for mineral specimens the size of a softball! Hey, these are only rocks! I have no idea who pays such prices for pretty rocks? A great show to visit, but I didn’t see many sales.

Are there no price ranges at all? From affordable to expensive? In some videos I saw that big pieces cost lots of money but I wasn’t sure if even the smaller specimens are also pricey?

Dorcas Winter Reply: sure the specimens that weight hundreds pounds are many thousands of dollars. I don’t want specimens that weight hundreds of pounds. What I found was that even specimens of quality mineral crystals the size of golfballs and soft balls were hundreds, thousands (most common) to tens of thousands of dollars. I went to the show to buy a 10 pound specimen that I always wanted (unique but only for somebody that appreciated its origin and geology). The price was $5,000! Beyond crazy! Sure they have cheap quartz crystals and polished stones that you can get at any tourist trap. But prices go crazy for anything beyond that.

@@pete9503 The prices vary quite a bit, as there are many thousands of vendors. It takes a couple weeks hard walking if you really want to see the show. What was it you were trying to get?

Today we went to the Kino Park show, the Ramada Limited, and Tucson City Center. Saw a lot of awesome rocks, gemstones, and fosills from all over the world.

...i have wanted a january trip to scottsdale az ...for a very long time ...forget about cars ...see them everywhere ...the energy itself ...generated by all of these crystals ...must take one's breath away ...no doubt ...but surely the resulting headache ...escapes no one ...oh ...except for those who go deep into the ground ...to unearth them ...imagine ! ...ty for sharing ...this is mind bending !

Been going for 20 years. Always amazing. As far as prices, you can pay a lot or a little. Depends on what you want. Also on various vendors so shop around! Towards end of show they are more willing to haggle as they dont want to drag a lot of rocks back with them....

Te puedo decir de donde fueron extraídas la mayoría de las piedras que muestran ahí son agatas, amatista, cuarzo estalactitas y estalagmitas que muchos brasileños venden como suyas pero son extraídas en uruguay y específicamente del departamento de Artigas

Hello all I must say though stunning every piece crystal rock quartz,I was sadden. All of this is from Mother Earth even The Cosmos there has to be a cap. Stop ripping away from mother earth these are her jewels. I love crystals but to see the huge middle and small ...it just sadden me.

do you realize how big this planet really is and how thick the crust is our population would would have to be 20 or 30 billion before we would be over populated. Yes people need to learn not to willfully destroy it but we are about to be able to spread out to a new frontier of space and there are Unlimited resources out there just waiting for us to fill and use.
