With wood prices they way they've been the last few years plus whatever time and hardware would be required it'd almost certainly be a lot less cost-effective. Plus this one has different sizes depending on the need so it works out well. Only thing I found a little odd is only using two mounting points, but it is holding up fine so I guess it doesn't need four.
