The pay has double since 2006 so I’m going back to driving concrete baby. This video is great because it’s giving me flashbacks of 2006 Brah. I’m back at it April 24th 2021. Hey Moe, good work. I have been driving for Alamo Concrete in Corpus Christi for almost 10 years now. Drive nearly the same rig. Mine is a 2018 Pete, running a 10 yard, Beck mixer. We are also running the same Cubit onboard computer system for logs, truck insp. and load tickets. Small world I guess. Our plant runs 2 plants on avg. of 1,000 to 1,400 yards a day. Think were are allotted for 26 drivers, in the Corpus plant, but we seem to avg. 18-20. If I ever make it back up your way I may stop in and say hi. If you find yourself down this way, stop in. Maybe we can go deep sea fishing.

I trained three different drivers in my thirteen years in the concrete business. One from Atlanta who drove the country roads around here like he was in a corvette. He rolled his truck about a year later. One tour bus driver who took out so many mail boxes a dispatcher had little stickers made for his door like a fighter pilot. Ace times too! An ex school bus driver and all I can say about him is I'm glad my kid's didn't ride his bus! Never again!!!

28 years in the bizz for me. Wow, we sure use and waste alot of water. But ya know that's the job, that's how we gotta do it. Back in 92' we had the luxury, of rinsing our barrels with fresh even drinkable water. We batched with it as well. Bout, oh say 2000' that way was OVER. Recycled wash water and batching with recycled water, we watched load temps go up quite a bit. And load life⤵️went down too. But that's to be expected so water reducer and plasticizer Sheez! Loads got alot of chemicals. Wintertime (we in Seattle)so we got the liquid calcium non chlorine and the old school calcium we still carry on the truck in bags. I have the customer add however much cal. He wants so no bitchin at the driver for a load takin off. You know. You know brother , how all the 💩runs down on the driver. Oh fool driver did this or that. Naw, to many years playing that old game, so I just CYA. You look like a good driver and trainer patient and cool. Right on👍 the owners son begged me to train so reluctantly I did for a little while untill my nerves were shot. They were were giving me these super truckers that had oh, all the hours OTR and rode with me the first day and 2nd I let em drive some and I hover over them show them the mistakes and we corrected but we go off road alot in deep jobsites and such we got Mercer Island. Now this island all driveways are steep as hell, backing down to a line pump, maybe spilling a little cause the front wheels are coming off the ground (ya got no steering) but we have to just drive it down. When we had manuals we'd put er in low Reverse and just hammer down in reverse. Stay off them brakes use the Jake brake in reverse then get on the brakes easy while front end comes up. Only 2-4in so it feels worse than it is from flipping over backwards. We my supertrucker trainee got out, called an Uber and quit. Not for me hell fkn NO. 3 GUYS did that. But I had 7 guys with not much experience, who trusted me, and trusted the equipment and are working just great. We got bout an extra 350 to train guys and gals is that about what y'all do? Like you vids brother. I shoulda made more. Got some on my KZfaq/Oxmachines . Take care💯👍👍👍. ⭕❌

Well I officially sht the bed as a concrete driver. I didnt lock my chute and the finisher took his hand off it. Long story short it blasted one of the finishers like a pendulum 😞.

I drive a concrete mixer in the United Kingdom, i find it very weird that you have that axel the drops down at the back. How many cubic metres would that mixer carry? I can carry 8 cubic metres max
